You believe we should’ve been playing Jermaine O’ Neal over Sheed and Grant?

Maybe not this year, but if we think Jrue will never come off the bench, then they might as well trade Scoot now.
As far as the teams you mentioned that might trade for him, I wonder which ones have players they can move to get him.

over the last 3 seasons, Chauncey has had 435 opportunities to NOT start Simons, Ayton, or Grant. He's chosen to do so exactly 0 times

The problem wasn't that he should have been playing ahead of either of those guys or Sabonis just that he only got 12.3 minutes per game that season. The next season Dale Davis, who we traded Jermaine for, got 26.7 minutes per game. The idea being that if we'd given Jermaine those kind of minutes he would have proven that he was trending towards the all star that he was just two seasons after we traded him.

Yeah, I really wish this off season was geared towards making Scoot, Shaedon, Tou, Deni and Clingan our starting lineup and just trying to get bench players to complement them as starters. I was hoping that we'd get a guy like Asa Newell in the draft to be a small ball 5 option to platoon with Clingan and just try to get clear of Ant, Jerami, Ayton and Rob with just bench players coming back.

I am not sure how many of those 435 opportunities someone else deserved to start over those three, but it sure as hell was not 435.

Sheed and Grant should have shared PF mins while Sabonis and O'Neal shared center minutes. We gave up an all star center for Dale Fucking Davis.

That was the rule at one point. I thought this rule was changed so Utah would keep his rights.

The player can refuse to sign with the drafted team. If the player plays in any league (ie -Europe) the NBA team retains the player rights. The only way the player can re-enter the draft is to sit out of ALL leagues and just train for a year

Yeah I guess nobody has ever done this in the NBA. That's what Bo Jackson did but I believe the NFL changed the rule so players cant do that any more. Would be wild if Ace actually tries to do this.

I can see a player saying they don't want to play for one city. We've seen that before. But Ace told all the top 5 teams not to draft him.

Think NBA and teams reaction would be WAY different if this was the Lakers at #6 or such. Not much jealousy out there for the Wizards.

I was just thinking today that they would do this (offload Jones with a pick)

Presti has so many picks he can experiment like this - didn't he burn at least one pick trading up for Jones in the first place?

doesn't matter, not if the suggestion is that Jrue can come of the bench so Scoot and Sharpe can start together...which is the discussion. Simons could have come of the bench to make that happen, but it simply didn't occur; Chauncey never made that choice

If this is what Sextons value was, Ant had negative value.

Yeah was thinking the same, Jrue deal maybe does not look so bad but that 3 years left is more than I prefer, I wonder if we move him and I'd guess Bos will not have an easy time moving Simons for any value
