    yeah, but wasn't it the media who projected him in the 2nd round in the first place? All these mocks are basically guys hired by the various websites like ESPN , Yahoo etc. I don't consider any of them experts

    Again they are not flying to China to check this guy out in detail

    My feeling too. He definitely has the skillset, as to whether or not it translates to the physical size differences in the NBA is a different story. But the footage we've seen of him at SL last year, he did not look like a deer in headlights, and his touch in the paint is anti-Nurk.

    He wont be able to take advantage of the competition as easily (due to his height over the opponents), but at least he has the form and ability to work on it and doesn't need to spend time learning a whole new skill on top of adapting to the US/NBA.

    The best thing is, while he's not necessarily going to come off the bench this season and be a solid role player (at least, it's probably unlikely he will do that), it's not like he's an Ibou Badji or John Butler project level either. Both of those guys were only in the NBA because they were stupid tall, and didn't possess T-Rex arms.

    I mean, ffs, if we're to believe the weights on basketball reference, Butler weighed 75 pounds *lighter* than Yang does.

    And they were the same height.

    Watching Hansen's second combine game now.

    I thought he did a good job on the perimeter and denied guards on multiple occasions.

    Good rebounder. Thought he could have been a bit better.

    Good rim protection. Multiple blocks.

    Good finisher.

    He set very effective screens.

    Super toolsy on the offensive end but the combine is a lot like summer league. Guard dominated.

    I think Hansen is a better than average athlete.

    He was slow to get back up court on transitions.

    Looked significantly quicker than Clingan.

    Very nifty passes.

    Just some thoughts watching a full game and not just highlights.

    hand length: Clingan 10.0"....Yang 10.0"
    hand length: Clingan 10.25"....Yang 11.25"
    Height w/o shoes: Clingan 7' 1.75'' ....Yang 7' 1.00"
    standing reach: Clingan 9' 7.0"....Yang 9. 3.0"
    weight: Clingan 282....Yang 253
    wingspan: Clingan 7' 6.75"....Yang 7' 2.75"

    lane agility drill: Clingan 12.06....Yang 11.79
    shuttle run: Clingan 3.38....Yang 7' 3.01
    3/4 sprint: Clingan 3.46....Yang 3.38
    no-step vertical: Clingan 25.5"....Yang 26.0"
    maximum vertical: Clingan 29.0" ...Yang 30.0"

    Clingan is quite a bit heavier and a little longer; Yang is a little quicker and slightly more mobile. But still, even with the advantages in the drills, Yang was right towards the bottom in his times. Yang had about the same mobility as Zach Edey

    what we do know is that Clingan has shown he can be rather dominant in the paint on an NBA floor playing against NBA competition. We don't know if that's true for Yang yet. Yang may be better on offense; Clingan better on defense. Both are drop-coverage C's
