That's right... Former Blazer Joe Ingles. Damn that Clippers trade is even worse than I remembered.

Yeah, I remember thinking at the time "I guess Nickeil Alexander-Walker is the big piece coming back to us..." and like thirty minutes later there was a tweet that said he was going to Utah and we were getting Ingles who was unlikely to ever report. Then I was pissed.

Blazers ended up getting 2 firsts out of that trade with CJ. That's a huge win, NAW or not.

Doesn’t it seem like so many of our trades are like that. I mean we have so many players that were once acquired but never played a second with us it makes for great trivia.

So we turned the picks into $160 million Grant and Kris Murray? Not sure that's a win - let alone huge win.

I'm just talking about the value in a vacuum of the CJ trade itself.

The value of the CJ trade was NAW, Hart, and Nolan Carole (just picked #19)

So yeah I guess that part was very good.

Problem was multiple terrible moves after.

I assume he meant Hart was flipped for one too... But then your talking about what the return later was turned into and that ended up with Grant 160 million deal plus Murray.

Hart was worth a 1st, even after a year of him being on the team.

What a great haul that was worth - a 23 year old rookie with little upside that could eventually become a 22% 3pt shooter.

I agree. He was better than the overrated CJ

Portland was 'going' to get the New Orleans pick. I believe it would have been the 12th or 13th pick. But PG13 got covid and the Pels beat the Clips and at 15, the pick was protected. So, the alternative was the Milwaukee 2025 1st. I've always wondered: if PG13 had played and the Blazers ended up with the 12th pick, would Conin have still traded that for Grant? I would hope not

I really don't know what the point of this conversation is. I was merely pointing out that we got good value in the CJ trade, even if they didn't put any value on NAW, so I'm not really stressed about losing NAW. He was expiring at that point as well, and took very low minimum deals to get where he's at now. The Jazz also chose not to re-sign him after playing him for half a season, so I don't really get the discourse.

You're right I was getting the two trades that season mixed up. We got plenty of value back for CJ and Larry. It was RoCo and Norm that we got nothing back for.

They changed this like 6 years ago so it's 6pm ET the night before and not the crazy midnight schedule they used to have.
