Yeah somewhere in that ballpark - I'm not sure on the precise calculation.

So should be the 10 he gave up, plus his new deal, 8, minus the minimum, 1.2, divided by 2. So 10 + 3.4, so should be roughly 13.4 or there abouts

Just an idea that was floated by Blazers UpRise that we released Ayton so that the Lakers could sign him and then they will trade for Grant.

That the Blazers agreed to buyout Ayton so the Lakers will sign him and it's part of a bundle of a Grant trade to the Lakers.

This trade makes a lot of sense for both teams though

I think especially with DFS gone the Lakers need to keep Rui.

Would be messed up if it's true and the Lakers suddenly back out on their part.

It wasn’t just Quick reporting that though.

Ayton’s skillset and reliability are two very different things that don’t always go hand in hand, Perkins said, per ESPN’s First Take.

“The word around the league is not good about DeAndre Ayton. The Portland Trail Blazers were happy as hell that they got to this point with him,” Perkins said. “Right now he’s been labeled as a diva, as a cancer in the locker room, and if I’m DeAndre Ayton, I gotta have a moment. I gotta have someone speak the real to me because we’re talking about a former number one pick that didn’t work out with the Phoenix Suns, the team that drafted him number one.”

it was also well documented he had issues in PHX as well

Only Vanderbilt is a multi-year contract, and he is on the same timeline as Grant. You'd essentially be switching a $35 million contract for a $15 million contract. That's a huge difference.

Regardless, I think this rumor is just fantasy.

Since we got Ayton to give up $10 million I'm fine with it.

Was more a conspiracy when we didn't know Ayton gave back anything let alone $10 million.

But he's a much more useful player. Grant that is.

not sure that means anything. I doubt Cronin would trash any player to other GM's.

the biggest gauge of how Cronin feels about Ayton is that he's paying Ayton 25.6M to not be a Blazer
