the ant-jrue trade could involve more players / teams

not required in the off-season. IIRC teams can have 19 or 20 players under contract in the off-season

but Portland likely wants to avoid dead salary

Doesn’t seem POR is involved in that trade. Would be nice to see some more action but at least we now have a more accurate sense of how last season’s vets are valued: pretty fucking low.

Maybe the worst is behind now for a while at least?

Pretty soon we'll just have one massive 30 team trade annually on July 6.

We’re starting to see teams make the desperate moves that I’m glad we’re not in a position to have to make.

Carter was a lottery pick so at least there's promise there.

I agree, he’s pretty comparable to Grant imo. Wiggins has the better contract though I believe.

He is if you have zero good defenders on your team, like the Lakers as currently constituted.

A team that is perfectly set up to have Drue come in and lead them to the finals is Houston…what about a Reed/Jabari/Jock kind of combo for Drue + a Buck swap and our Mem 1rp or whatever makes this fair?

I agree he would be a good fit there. But the problem with that is that they have Fred VanVleet whom they seem to be very happy with, signing him to a new big contract.

Fred/Drue starting backcourt, with Amen, Durant, and Sengun. Then have Tari, Cam, DFS, Capella, and other Holiday off the bench.

I doubt Houston would be willing to pay the salary cap fines to make that roster a reality.
But it would be one hell of a roster!
