That was some next level passing. I actually think he's a better passing big than Sabas was and I loved that guy. This kid can move really well too. Good instincts as a rim protector. Looks really comfortable putting the ball on the floor. Clingan is such a good dude he seemed really excited watching the guy who's going to take his spot.

When I said I wanted to see Yang do a spin move in the game, I never thought it would be from the 3-point line.
And when I said I wanted to see Yang run a fast break, I never though it would be him back on defense intercepting a pass (after he missed a 3-pointer) then running the break,
THEN right at the right moment while he looked straight ahead throwing the no-look pass to the cutter.

100% correct. I saw that too. RoLo was great at that. And I think its an underrated aspect of good team basketball

Our athletic wings are going to have a field day making cuts with Hansen Yang on the floor.

Yang gonna be the storyline, but I tell you… Caleb Love is gonna need to be talked about as an UFA. That young man knows how to ball. His form looks great. Trying not to overreact from 1 SL game, but to potentially have the steal of the draft in Hansen Yang AND the best UFA is insane.

Really excited about this teams future, definitely stacked with young talent.

Great point… Not like we haven’t seen it before. J Lin got an absurd amount of All-Star votes thanks to the support from Asia.

Got to be honest. I did not really like the pick and I still question the way they moved to pick him because I still feel he could have been picked later in the draft.
That being said. We still need to see him play against some kind of defense. Summer league has none.
It is nice to see him make some plays and yes Rupert should be the best on the court. So no real surprise there.

Being a team player>looking out for yourself.

this is why we dumped Ayton for a unplayed rookie from another continent. Pay attn kids

There’s already been several teams that have admitted they were going to grab him from #18-26 so your point is totally moot. You’re just recycling the same narrative that espn came up with on draft day.

One positive, regardless of the competition, that you could take from the game is he only had a few plays where he looked bad.

I hope his game tonight, assuming he plays, shows some of the growth and this wasn't just a one time deal.

I also really like that Yang clearly gives a shit. That dude loves basketball which is usually a good predictor for becoming a better player.

Very impressive game from Yang yesterday. Wasn't sure he'd be in the rotation to start the regular season.

Now I believe he'll at the least have a limited minute backup role.

Some might scoff at taking so much away from one summer league game. Now if he made or missed a bunch of shots that could be random luck.

But I disagree we can't take more away from his summer league. You can see with Yang's footwork, passing, recognition of the game, slashing, defense that he has abilities to play next season.

Now will Yang be effective in the regular season? I have no clue. Maybe he won't be. But he deserves a chance in limited minutes to try.
