The one thing that does suck about that is not being able to try to showcase him to a contender.

Whether he would actually play well or not to get anyone to bite is another question.

that's where I land on this...put him next to Jrue and Clingan and he'll probably look a lot better by the deadline than his last down season...his value has never been lower

Teams already know what he brings. Showcasing a player only happens in the fans minds

Guys have slumps...he just had one. How he bounces back will either spark interest or not but right now...you sell low on him and he's not cheap enough for a team to take a flyer on.

I wouldn't call a year long crappy shooting a "slump".

I disagree. I think teams would clearly think he fell off a cliff last year.

If someone wants to take a chance on him and his multiple years left on his deal, i'm sure they would like to see if last year is the norm or just a down year.

I think even if Jerami is coming off of the bench he can showcase his value to teams that might want him around the trade deadline and it might even motivate him to play well so he can get off of our team and onto one that will start him. Regardless he will get around 30 minutes per game even if it's off the bench.

I'm excited that Shae or Scoot will get that other starting spot now.

Highkin already kinda refuted this tweet. He does say that based on Billups' past, if Tou and Deni are the best forwards on the team, they will start.

BUT that kinda assumes that Tou and Deni will only play forward. I wouldn't be shocked if Chauncey trotted out some kind of lineup that was Jrue/Tou/Deni/Grant/Clingan.

I like Grant in a role off the bench as a 6th man where he can lead the bench unit and chuck to his heart's desire. Let's say Scoot does happen to start, which I'm doubtful of, a bench of Jrue/Thybulle/Murray/Grant/RW3 makes for a solid rotation.

Jrue is basically Greg Anthony on steroids for us. That bench unit gives Chauncey so many options to sprinkle in experience.

Ideally, that would happen. I have my doubts Chaunce goes that way. And I loved Greg Anthony.

You seem to think player's value are static...
GMs and coaches are humans and change valuation (within reason) frequently.

For sure the value changes, but "showcasing" a guy like Grant isn't gonna swing it.

You seem to think teams don't already know what he brings.

Also Dame isn’t going to be good when he comes back. If Joe trades anyone younger than Dame to “win now” he should be fired. From a cannon. Into the sun.
