Also was surprised how quickly it happened. Nice timing as its summer and he can clean house if he wants going into the upcoming season as it would be a good time for GM/Coach changes etc if he so chooses.

Those saying we don't have a star should define their opinion of star. To me a star is just under all star status. Deni is near that. Grant in good seasons is near that. Thats two stars right there.

Who are Mike and Sprague and what are their credentials? Just curious.

The City and State are very business driven and conducive for growth. They've had solid leadership.

We could certainly see immediate changes. I suspect we probably won't. He will probably want to dip his toes in, get accustomed to the team, and have a good footing before he makes his mark.

He was quick to make changes with the Hurricanes, but they were a dumpster fire. The Blazers have at least been making some good moves and building towards something. So, he might not be so quick to tear down the walls here.

He may want a more experienced GM or coach and make those changes, who knows. I could also see Joe and Chauncey selling him on their vision of the team going forward.

Well, with Portland's and the state of Oregon's drive to keep the Blazers here, hopefully they will be open to be business driven when it comes to the team.

They were responding to me saying that you need a top 5 player to be a contender and Klay Thompson has never, at any point, been even remotely good enough to be considered top 5. He was maybe a top 20 level of player? But to me, he was a good player that wouldn't have done anything if he wasn't on a team with Steph Curry.

Being an All-Star is really a low bar, considering some of the players who have gotten a nod. Really All-NBA is a better litmus test.

The city and public cant fuck around like seattle did. There will need to be a new facility or major renovation.

NBA expansion is tied to Lebrons retirement. Ive said this 100x and I’ll keep saying it. Watch LeBron retire and expansion happen with him as the majority owner of a team. It’s almost like you can’t say you predicted it, because it’s so obvious.

The league has its plans which aren’t disclosed. They’ve said expansion is something which is considered. They talk about the business aspect and the watering down of revenue when you add other markets. The cost of purchasing an expansion as compared to the sales of recent teams. It’s not fair for an expansion owner to pay something much less than somebody buying the Blazers, Balmer Buying the Clippers, Or any other recent transactions in the league.

The NBA wants the Blazers to be sold for whatever the most that they can be sold for is. They don’t care what that means otherwise. In a sense they realize the benefit of having a team with a strong fan base, but there are a lot of things to consider.

Take Yang Hansen for instance. People from
China are going to watch him wherever he plays.

The fate of this really might come down to the owner. I don’t know how much I buy the mantra that “The NBA learned relocating Seattle to OKC was a mistake”.

We will see a team in Seattle and a team in Las Vegas. LeBron will own the team in Vegas, just like he has said he has wanted to. Grizzlies and Timberwolves join the Eastern Conference.

I'm pretty sure he wont take ownership of the team until after this upcoming season.

I think, as we have seen recently, the city and state will be ready to make that happen to keep the team here. No way, they put up that big of a fuss to the NBA and media and then just throw their hands up and not work to get a new arena built or at least major renovations in place.
