That's exactly what he WANTS you to think!

    Want to know why?

Because the Sonics left Seattle in EXACTLY THE SAME SCENARIO almost 20 years ago!!!!

So Portlanders and Oregonians support taxes for billionaires? The Portland Raiders would have been awesome

The people of Portland and Oregon will pay for an arena before they allow the Blazers to leave.

I simply don't believe the region would reject the Blazers that way.

And it improves Portland, and by extension Oregon.

This development should be good for everyone. And there is plenty of money to be made by the group who makes it happen.

I had my doubts that they could leave but the new owner makes me feel warm and fuzzy that he’ll keep team here. Also like the fact he wants to add local investors. Typically wouldn’t want local investors if your plan is to move them. Also rumor was the local investors were part of the Rip City group who ‘s main goal was to keep them here in Oregon

There are multiple examples of people voting no for billionaires

In this case, I don't think it's about billionaires. I think it's about the Blazers.

I don't think Portland is going to allow the fact that billionaires are involved to cost us the Blazers.

This is unfortunately the cost of doing business for a region like ours if we want to have a major league franchise.

And if we ever want baseball we need to make sure the Blazers are handled very well. This is an opportunity for us to stand up and prove that not only can we support the Blazers, we can also support MLB (even if MLB never happens, this is an opportunity for us to show that we could support it).

I think there are far more people who think Portland has more important things to spend money on.

A lot more from previous generation like my old ass. You have your opinion. I love your opinion. I’m just skeptical because of history

You could be right. I just think there will be enough people motivated enough to show up and pass whatever funding is needed.

I don't think there will be enough people motivated enough to want the team to leave, thereby losing the billions of dollars the team brings to the local economy (according to Ron weiden, etc).
