Teams should only do a B2B if it's a double header at same opponent without travel. It's nuts teams have to fly at night after game to play next night in a new city. If there weren't B2B travel teams could change schedule so they never fly at night after a game. Could have earlier wake time and more standard practices in the afternoon.

Batum was never a star and never could have been one. We needed another starting level player on those rosters, not delusional expectations of Batum.

I have the same opinion of Sheed. I just expected both the good and the bad with him. He won a title months after going elsewhere. We needed more talent on all these rosters.

Yeah but he's what a 1% example of guys who did that and lucky to never have major injuries.

Certainly helped he had a coach babying his minutes later in his career as no other player had done previously. Some might argue he was the one who pioneered resting in the regular season.

It was just frustrating watching a dude who could have been a star and he just didn’t have the drive. One night he’d drop 30 and the next he’d do 10 assists and 5 points. He had all the tools he just didn’t have the drive. That’s the same thing that worries me about Sharpe.

We weren't going to get more talent on those rosters. That's why we needed Sheed to be less of a knuckle head and Batum to be better.

Those things would have put us over the top.

Sheed won a title a few months later because he stopped doing stupid shit for a few months.

That would have never happened if he hadn't been rejected by both Portland and Atlanta in a weekend.

I disagree. His shooting was way too inconsistent to give him any star potential.

I would argue that if he had the drive he would have likely been a much more consistent shooter.

That said, I believe his dad died on the basketball court as a pro player. I'm not sure if that had anything to do with anything "drive" related, but it's understandable if it did.

10000%. Dude would just stand around sometimes and it would drive me nuts. His effort one night would be great and the next it was awful. He was so frustrating to watch. That's probably why Aldridge wanted him off the team so bad.

Basketballreference has a link to an immaculate grid game that I play virtually every day. Check it out!
