Nice score. I always love the rush of getting old stuff like that. I used to run around thrifting a lot in my younger days looking for video game stuff and other random nostalgia. After kids I just lost the energy to do it.

That sucks. I've been lucky too. Never had an issue but the technology is 20 years old now. The good news is it isn't too expensive to pick up another one.

Yeah, it sounds cheaper than having them fixed.

Does being on S2 count? That’s probably my main nerdy pastime.

I also got back into collecting NBA cards after a 30 hiatus. A buddy of mine got me back into it. I had to scale back after spending too much. Not nearly as much as he has spent since then.

No, I'm not into that kind of stuff, though I certainly admire their zeal. I do it just because I like doing it. And while I was employed there were plenty of coworkers who wanted me to make sets for them. And it helped one son get a good grade in his high school American History class. Just something to do.....

    Never been a gamer.

I worked as technical writer/editor which made me want to read for entertainment/education more.

I collected goosebumps when I was a kid. I always loved when the book fair came at school and I got to get a new one.

    Heck yeah.

Dreamcast was fun. I remember messing with my friend on both NBA 2k and Soul Caliber. That was like the original 2k games and always pissed him off on NBA because I would wait till right before the buzzer and lob up full court shots, that always went in.

On Soul Caliber, I'd wait till he wasn't looking and put his life at nothing and mine at full and he would be like what the hell when I was invincible and he was dying in like one hit.

Yeah, Dreamcast was awesome. I got one when it first came out. Sega bass fishing, jet grind radio, hydro thunder, dynamite cop, Shenmue, sonic were all games I played. I won a Game Crazy tournament in my neighborhood and got a free copy of NBA Showtime on NBC which was like an updated NBA Jam. My friends and I played that game so many times.

I traded it all in for a brand new GameBoy Advance and Mario Kart a few years later and regretted it. Was able to get all my collection back in the past decade or so.

I read science, politics, history, classics, fiction and the occasional light reading. Read all Shakespeare plays during pandemic. And cookbooks.

I think it's awesome...I built model planes and ships when I was a kid, always enjoyed it. I was listening to a podcast about Lincoln, Johnson and Grant and have to say, it was fascinating stuff..Grant was a character.

I remember Jet Grind Radio. I think that came with my Dreamcast when I got it. I never enjoyed the Sonic games on there as much as the original Sega Sonics.

I'm was big on Mario Kart 64. That was my Jam. My friends and I got a lot of time on that. Goldeneye and Doom as well.

I traded in the PSOne I got when I graduated from college (which I regret) to get a Dreamcast (which I don’t regret). I loved the Dreamcast; I think it did 60fps gaming better than even the PS2 did sometimes. Just felt sharper. A great last hurrah for Sega. Though I think they also killed it in the DS generation as a software company.

I loved command and conquer and counterstrike 1.6. Played some Planetside too. But idk, always preferred console.

But, lately I've seen so many amazing indie horror games. Has me considering a steam deck.

There is a new Oregon Trail on PS5 I got. It is ok.

I played some Warcraft 2 and Wow (for about three months until I saw it affecting my real life).

I remember playing Leisure Suit Larry, Commander Keen, Duke Nukem, Doom, Megaman, a horror game called Last Half of Darkness, and the Hugo Horrors games. Rollercoaster Tycoon.

There used to be these games online by Boxerjam. out of order was one. Another was called Napoleon. Wish they still had those.

Back when there was only guitar hero 1 & 2, I modded my PS2 and burned rewritten images of the game to play the songs I coded and added. Nerd/pirating. And yes, I did some Metallica just for Lars.
