yeah, the guy stood there, unzipped his backpack dug around looking for his gun then shot the dude. I would have definitely turned and ran instead of taking 10 seconds to find my gun. He has waited for this day his whole life. Guy in the wheelchair learned a lesson, but definitely wasn’t self defense when you have time to get away and don’t attempt to.
I think it has less to do with killing kids being bearable and far more to do with red herring political posturing. There were/are a ton of ways to protect kids (starting with getting all kids [all people] the mental/emotional help they need, as well as financial) but both sides have been too busy politicizing the tragedies to actually work toward any real solutions.
Not to try to minimize this horrid and tragic act, but I agree with you 100% and just want to add, this is not the only thing that could have a solution if politicians would stop using such events as an opportunity to attack the political opponent and instead worked steadfast for realistic, tangible solutions. That goes for both sides, like you said.
So what do we tell the parents of kids who are having their bodies shredded by armor piercing bullets in the mean time?
Genetic engineering is the solution. If we change human genetic makeup so that our skin is like Kevlar, children will survive these things. I'm in the lab now, along with my pet armadillo, experimenting with this. barfo
