Ways to pass time, distract and satiate your hunger/hype for the upcoming season

  1. Watch NBA highlights, funny videos, documentaries, discussions

  2. Read this forum and other forums, browse the net for NBA news

  3. Play NBA2K as a MYplayer joining the Blazers and taking the team to the top (or die trying)

  4. Watch old replays of games, even classic Blazers games

  5. Avoid basketball-related content like the plague

  6. Watch movies and TV shows to distract and pass the time

  7. Watch The Client List (streaming on Tubi) w/Jennifer Love-Hewitt, ponder the depth of her sluttiness

  8. Play Clutchtime:Basketball (Rogue-lite deckbuilder like Balatro, but better)

  9. Shoot hoops at the gym/park, imagine you are on the team and in critical moments; can you drain it?

  10. Peruse offerings of yard sales, start collection of deformed, naked, plastic dolls or old hammers

I stand corrected. I didn't think there was an audience for this but apparently I was wrong. My apologies @Domihatin

Haha, it was a joke man, as I'm sure you know. Yes, have seen and listened. Like many, have been blocked by him for calling him out on his pessimism and attitude and rampant ignorance on some things. But he's not too bad. Wish I hadn't messaged him with such a strong message, but one year he really got to me, haha.

Umm..not sure what or why you're saying this. Did I say anything that isn't true? Or is it just the fact that you think it should be kept under wraps and not talked about?

I didn't like the post. I didn't think it was funny, I didn't think it was useful information and I thought the delivery seemed a bit unhinged.

Honestly I don't have a problem with the subject of sports groupies. Most of us have known about them for as long as we've been big fans of sports. I think most of us heard about Shawn Kemp having a bunch of kids with different women all over the country. We knew about it before that. I actually think it's probably a stereotype that's a little overstated. So I don't think it is kept under wraps or should be.

It's the way you choose to address these things that I find distastefully strange. I think whatever you're trying to inject into these topics is either intentionally antagonistic or sadly disconnected. If you don't understand why I find your posts off putting then I think that's seemingly problematic for you. Again, I hope you're doing OK and if you are then I guess have fun trolling.

Really sorry to hear about your loss. Nothing but positive thoughts for you and your family.

I'm not pissed off about this thread or the post I was replying to. I'm just voicing my distaste for what and how @Domihatin chooses to post on here.

If you don't find the posts strange then I don't know what to tell you. If you find them funny it just means you and I have different senses of humor. No big deal. @SlyPokerDog can correct me if I'm wrong but I don't remember ever flagging one of this individual's posts.

Just voicing my opinion that these takes are strange and not for my taste. No different than when I tell @AldoTrapani that he's too negative. I'm not going to block either one of them but I'll reserve the right to comment on what I think of their posts. No different than when posters say my posts are too long.

If nothing else I can say that at least @Domihatin is obviously provocative in what he chooses to post about and how he chooses to post it.

They are strange. That's what is somewhat entertaining about it. In a forum with so many smart people talking X's and O's and dissecting the minutia of every aspect of sports with very intelligent, yet serious takes, I find it brings a bit of brevity to such a serious time in life and on this forum. :) I am encouraged to read someone who isn't so agro about everything. He isn't insulting anyone and he isn't picking fights. His takes are, at times, quite odd and humorous to me. It beats mom and wife jokes hands down, in my humble opinion.

My sincere condolences. I fear that day is not far off for my own mother. It happens all around us and hits harder when it happens to us. We only have one mother, if we're lucky maybe two. Amazing how short time indeed is.

I respect you and your opinion and you express yourself quite intelligently. I also appreciate the non-blocking. I realize I am provocative and "unhinged" makes me chuckle. I liked it.

You do your thing. It doesn't have to be what I like for it to add a little color to the forum. I appreciate a variety of points of view and yours is definitely different.

Wow, thank you, kind sir. I have come off as insulting and made some careless and admittedly 'dumb' posts a couple times, which did help me to realize that even faceless entities on an internet forum have feeling and I should not take that lightly.

Yes, I suppose I do have a strange and bizarre sense of humor. I do tend to gravitate towards injecting some random mindlessness into things. Kind of mimicking the real world in a wryly sardonic and exaggerated way. Sometimes not so exaggerated, though.

I hear what you are saying about the typical types of discussions around the sport and the yearly ins and outs. I suppose my takes on things are often outside of that.

I'm kind of surprised by this topic, I must say. I was making a very serious poll about the doldrums of the late summer when we are all really quite ready for the season to just begin and what we do to help cope with the lack of our team to watch and entertain us and all of my poll options were very serious except for two, right? I guess I couldn't help myself. And even those were somewhat serious things. The show on Tubi, for example, I actually woke up in the middle of the night and was trying to find something to watch and was really shocked at the premise of that and as I started watching I thought to myself, this really exists? This is so surreal.
