    My dad turned 86 yesterday.

Today, he got on his laptop, opened Zoom, and logged into a Tai Chi research group class for elderly people from all across the US.

    You go, Dad!

Also, I, Mrs PokerDog, and my dad, all got our new Pixel 10 Pro phones set up yesterday. It's much easier tech support-wise to keep my dad on the exact same phone as I have.

That's cool! My dad did the same thing this morning that he's done for the last 2 years.

    Not wake up.

The Tai Chi thing? Sounds like a cool program. Designed to help seniors stay mobile and improve their balance. Not sure if it will last into next year, it's one of those wasteful government things that is losing its funding.

I’m going to send him my username and password so he won’t miss a single LAKERS game this season! He’ll be the Portland version of LA Jimmy!

Tell your spring chicken dad there is a woman 105 years old who spends one day every week protesting against Trump.

My dad was born in Cuba and grew up in Venezuela. He is a US citizen, served in the military, but still sounds like Ricardo Montalban. Because ICE and our government are not playing fair, it's best if he doesn't protest.

It's a good thing we don't based our "self" on where we were conceived, otherwise "back of a porta-john" would be a hard uniform to get for @THE HCP

Say...is THAT why your name is John??

When my dad was a boy in Cuba, there was a revolutionary leader before Castro. My dad was going to a small school out in the country. On the wall in each schoolroom was a picture of the current President and a crucifix. Supporters of this revolutionary leader would come into the classroom and tell all the kids to put their heads down on the desk and pray to the President for a candy bar. The kids would put their heads down, pray, and raise them. No candy bar. Next they would tell the kids to put their heads down and pray to Jesus for a candy bar. Same result, no candy. Then they would hold a picture up of the current revolutionary leader and tell the kids to put their heads down and pray to him for a candy bar. And the teacher would put candy on every kid's desk.
