Fire Billups? I didn't realize he was the one that has Grant on the roster as the longest tenured Blazer as well as the biggest contract.

There are layers to this. Learn the game, then post. I just made that shit up. I’m copywriting it….or is it trademarking it? Either way, is there a lawyer that can draw up the papers, or is it a notary?

Yep! This is the most excited I’ve seen him about a Blazers team for quite a few years.

Me as well! Won’t necessarily equate (first time I’ve ever typed that word….. or said it in my head) to more victories than last season, but I believe we are headed in the right direction.

Hey wasn’t that you guys I met at the airport? Always a cool feeling to bring joy to my fans meeting them in person!

I don't think we'll see a significant jump in victories either but if Shaedon is a lot better on defense and has made steps forward on offense too and if Clingan is giving us anything on offense to go with his already very good D for a drop coverage C, then I think we could improve our record over last season by 3-5 wins. That might put us in that 9th or 10th play-in spot.

I'll just be really happy if our young guys show growth and if our vets stay motivated to play at there best. A bunch of defense first competitive basketball throughout the season, with a ton of fast breaks would be a lot of fun to watch.

I only said that because the west is just too tough FAMS! Has nothing to do with us to be honest.

    Yes, that was us.
We would have gotten your autograph, but unfortunately we didn't have a pen. And that odd coincidence that both my son's camera and my camera both didn't work...

Here comes the negative waves again. People feeling hopeful and excited and you gotta drop in and take a depressing dump to dampen their spirits.

We had a winning record last part of the season and our guys have been improving since then and we add Jrue and Hansen and I was also impressed with Marjon and Blake's abilities, among others and you want to say they won't necessarily be any better??

And if you've never used "equate" before, might not want to advertise that. Here's another word you might want to add to your bag: optimism.

    Highlights Cause Pain

I think that might actually be what it stands for!

The irony that someone who has the blessing and fortunate position to be the Blazers highlights editor (unless this was a joke by SlyPokerDog???) and is often hugely down on them and underselling the team and players. Yeeeeesh. Jaded, cynical, corrosive attitude. It's just, ughhhhh.

Back on topic and not to get sidetracked, FanFest was great! The roar the went up for Dame's welcome was quite huge and sustained and brought a literal tear to my eye. Was surprised and not surprised when Hansen's actually seemed to equal that!

    Some observations and notes:

    1) Thybulle didn't play....was this just a matter of not enough space on the teams...or is he resting or (God I hope not!) dealing with injury?

    2) Hansen didn't pass much, but they also didn't run things through him until later and then he dropped a nice little mini-pocket pass.

    3) Following up on #3: wow, he sure showed out with some defensive abilities! Counted 3 blocks and other great plays. Rebounds, screens. Was delight watching him with Jrue. Like everyone says (notably Dame and Jrue), he knows the game of BBall and knows where to be and what to do and makes everyone better.

    4) Got worried when DC literally tripped Hansen up and he went down hard. Like, umm, you don't want to injure your huge (deserved) hype newcomer during FanFest before the season even starts. You trying to ensure you get the starting spot and keep it DC????

    5) Saw Danny Marang not far from me, huge as ever (why did he stop the healthy path he was on and go back to ballooning? It's tough, but you gotta slow down the intake as you age); he was downing some big "energy" drink or calorie bomb and looking his usual self-inflated self. Anyway, I do enjoy a measured amount of his takes on things, with a grain (or handful) of salt.

    6) I caught a t-shirt (I think just the 2nd time? Maybe first? Can't remember if I got one prior to 2015). It was sailing HIGH over my wife's head (she wanted one so bad and they had been flying to fans all around us the whole event). I used my height and athleticism and fast reflexes and sharp mind and eye to jump and outstretch my long, muscled arms to snag it BEFORE it went into the rows behind us. Things slowed down for a moment, I saw so many fans (who had been loud and obnoxious the whole time, even heckling) with a look of shock as my huge hands streaked for the little bundle of cotton. I was so glad I was fast and big enough to grab it before it touched their outstretched fingertips. I immediately pulled it down like a big-moment rebound and stuffed it into shining little wife's hands. She was beaming. Got a pic of her with it right then with this crazy shot of a guy behind her to our right who had been heckling and he looked rather "special" but not authentically so (couldn't sit courtside on FanFest level of special, but looking and acting like it). I can't post the picture because I don't want to get everyone worked up! Hehe. Advice: love your wives and SO's and appreciate them.

Haha, oh come on, Julius. Him saying "Google me bitch" could never be lived down. It's an insane and unreal moment in this forum's history. Infamy is what he wants, but it will be awarded not with prestige, but alas, with a heavy dose of (as the younger generation says) CRINGE.

You honestly think he was being serious?

For fucks sake, the on going joke is that his wife sleeps with everyone, he can't spell, we have to define words for him (that's my personal favorite, since John and I have had plenty of conversations privately and he and I both are in on the joke), or that he's a Lakers fan, or plenty of other obvious signs that he's not actually believing this stuff or is serious about it.

The only people who take him seriously, and can't get over it, seem to be insecure or can't take a fucking joke.

You know how many times he's referred to me as a woman (and *not* because it means he thinks women are inferior, because he wants to act like he doesn't have a clue who I am)?

I don't take it seriously. Context clues.

    Here are some other tips.

    barfo isn't actually a pirate.

    Sly isn't a dog.

Mick zagger isnt named Mick nor is he a "zagger".

I'm not the actor who played Herb Tarlek from WKRP.

Sometimes people get mad that Johns shtick interferes with their cosplaying shtick.

For the love of god, the only one who actually thinks there is some kind of beef between the two of you, is you.

Some people never learn to just ignore him or just realize it's not done with intent or malice. Instead they flame out and return under a new screen name (that literally fools no one) and are incapable of not making a mole hill into a mountain.

That was a great post and I honestly got a lot out of it. Very well structured, too.
