I kind of thought some people were overrating the Beavers a bit, but I also wasn't sure about Murphy as a QB, one way or the other. But 0-6? I didn't expect that. And the next game against Wake Forest is not looking like a sure win at all. Could be 0-7 when they play Lafayette. Sam Houston and Lafayette look like pretty sure wins. Tulsa isn't good so that should be a win. But 3-9 or 4-8 are starting to look like the range right now
They had some chances to win a game or two this year but wow it doesn’t look good. This season has really gone downhill. I’m really not impressed with some of the decisions being made by coaches. Murphy might become a bit of a scapegoat because he played well enough to get them in a position to win a couple times.
Little did you guys know the AD is trying to beat the record of 28 straight losing seasons. 2 down, 27 to go!!!
Remember when Appalachian State beast Michigan AT Michigan? Like 15 years ago or so. Is that still considered the biggest upset in college football?
Probably. OSU isn't on the level of Michigan...well, ever. It's absolutely pathetic and if it doesn't give them the kick in the pants to start canning people, nothing will. But this is the same AD that seems content on their teams being mediocre.
Beavers were within literal spitting distance of two touchdowns in the 4th quarter and pissed both of them away. Of course they did.
It was a travel day for me yesterday. Once we boarded the plane and I was able to check the score I looked over at my wife (also an OSU alum) and said, "shit. The beavers are already down 10-0". Saw the final score notification the second I took my phone off airplane mode. I've been told not to go back and watch the game and I don't think I will.
Yeah the Blueprint deal is nuts. I can understand having a 3rd party manage NIL and having them deal with employees instead of the Beavers having to hire staff for that. So either have a high fixed fee you pay this group, or have them get a reasonable %. Giving them BOTH a huge fixed fees, plus a HUGE %.... Just inexcusable. I hope Beavs AD and all relevant management are fired over this. As you see in other posts I've been very reluctant to call for coaches or mgmt to be fired the last few years. But this might be worse than all other decisions, which is remarkable when you botch being a group of a conference with a 100+ year tradition. Then get stuck with crap in the game of musical chairs.
The 0-6 doesn't bother me that much. It's one losing season and the team can just have a better feel good story whenever they bounce back. If they were 4-2 this year I'd probably be depressed anyways with all the chaos of past 3 years - so whatever.
Anyone hear anything about the guy who negotiated the Blueprint deal for OSU has left to go work for Blueprint?
