The new forum game that will be taking over the city of Portland quicker than Trump’s gestapo tactics. I bring you Fun Unlimited, or F U for short. In this game it’s all about the opponent. Their team, their city, their state, past or current player or staff. Whatever you’d like to say to shit on whatever team dares to try and beat our soon to be 82-0 TrailBlazers. Pictures are welcome with your comments, or if strong enough, by themselves. Good luck, and Godspeed

San Francisco is what happens when late-stage capitalism takes molly, joins a commune, and then gentrifies it. It’s a city where $4,000 a month gets you a shoebox apartment with a scenic view of someone actively shoplifting from a Walgreens that’s on fire — and somehow still open.

It’s the only place on Earth where you can get screamed at by a man in a tutu wielding a didgeridoo, then turn the fucking corner and overhear a startup pitch about “disrupting loneliness with blockchain hugs.”

The streets are a surrealist painting of Teslas, tent cities, and tech workers who’ve never made eye contact with another human — all coated in a fine layer of fog and broken dreams.

And don’t even try to drive — the parking rules are written in riddles, the bike lanes are war zones, and every other street ends in a hill so steep it feels like God is punishing you for choosing to live there.

But it’s all worth it, right? Because you get to tell your friends back home that you “walk to farmers’ markets” and “microdose for productivity” while rationing oat milk and hoping your building isn’t the next one to get turned into a WeWork.

    Fuck that place

Ah yes, the metro area that gave us the Grateful Dead and Facebook.

When I visited as a kid it was a large man dressed as a mermaid with a coconut bra around Pier 29. And he wasn’t screaming, he was uncomfortably flirtatious with everybody.

I can't beat this one! Well done! I was slipped a Mickey in a bar in SF when I was 17 and fresh out of Naval Training School...woke up in North Beach outside of a bar with no wallet and a splitting headache..the great thing about my time there was Winterland, Fillmore West and the Berkley Ampitheater..great great concerts every night! Later when I was older I enjoyed the food and the Palace of Fine Arts. City Lights book store

I've never had a bad trip in SF, but for this thread, SF can suck it.

Last time through, my band had a great show, got to check out the Musée Mécanique, etc. Was a blast.

Dude... smh, you sound like Trump describing Portland. Is life so horrible in Houston that demonizing/talking shit about places you've no idea about brings joy? I moved there from Portland escaping my grass pollen allergies in 1994 living there for 20+ years and enjoyed riding my bike the entire time... night rides across the Golden Gate bridge into the Marin headlands or up to Twin Peaks was an absolute treat. The city is urban and definitely has some rough spots, but it has lots of beauty and wonderful people too. There is amazing outdoorsy stuff like great beaches with a vibrant surfing community, incredible parks and lots of amazing old nooks and crannies from a sordid and vibrant past. I helped build the Disc Golf course in Golden Gate Park and have formed friendships with so many great people in that community. Yeah there are hills, but embrace walking up them and you can lose the gut and live a bit longer. Last weekend I enjoyed attending the 25th annual 3 day Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival in Golden Gate Park. Over the years I've seen Willy, Dolly, John Prine, Lyle Lovett, Social Distortion, Mavis, Robert Plant, Elvis Costello, Jerry Jeff, Conor Oberst, my fav Gillian Welch and a myriad of other great bands for the grand price of nothing because someone who made a fortune in the SF financial district wanted to give back to the beautiful place they love.

Pretty pathetic thread idea, I hope you find something better to do with your time... like walking up a hill
