Since the Right has their Project 2025 and is working feverishly to implement it, it occurred to me that the Democrats should play this game too. Elements of Project 2025 certainly attracted at least some voters to the right, so perhaps if the Democrats came out with their own "Project", it might bring back some of us who have decided to keep the Democratic Party at arm's length, especially if they make firm promises (in terms of changes to "normal") like the Right did. So this thread is about a Democrat Project 2028. Please add what you think Democratic priorities should be with a broad ranging agenda similar to what the MAGAts are doing. For my part I'd like to see; At least six seats added to the Supreme Court. No points for guessing their ideology....this is necessary to get Democratic priorities pushed through. Identical to what MAGA is doing right now Elimination of the Electoral College. Push every loop hole available in the Second Amendment to get guns under control (kinda like what the Right is trying to do to birthright citizenship, with minimal justification). End jerrymandering and put in strict, enforceable rules about redistricting (when, where and how) for the most equitable representation. Tax rates on the rich (people worth more than say, $220M?, $500M?) to at least 50% and probably higher. Require the Commander In Chief to have prior military service. Standardized voting systems across the country (including mail in) with rigid security against miscounts, fraud etc. A woman's right to choose codified in our Constitution. Strict, enforceable laws that keep a hard separation between Church and State Strict, enforceable laws, rules and "guard rails" that keep rogue Presidents (and every other politician) in check. Age limits AND a code of ethics for the Supreme Court. Age limits for the Presidents, Vice President, US Senators and House Representatives. Term limits for Senators, Representatives and Supreme Court justices. Draconian laws against using elected positions for personal gain while in office. Major (and heart stopping) changes to campaign funding. No more PACs. Super PACs or any other sleazy attempt to corrupt the system. Declare MAGA a domestic terrorist organization and root it out at the source. Arrest, trial and incarceration of Donald Trump, JD Vance, Pamela Bondi and every other single member of the Trump administration. Stop construction of the Trump ballroom, while restoring the Rose Garden to its former glory. An organized and prolonged effort to undo anything and everything the Trump administration fucked up, including the Trump name wherever found. This is just a start but I thought we could have fun putting together our own Project 2028. I'm sure there is plenty of good ideas that I missed.......
The difference is, when in power the GOP actually would do their best to implement their project. If in power, the DNC would do what they always do. Nothing.
