I know this is just me being immature, but when I hear "vuvuzuelas", I think of things underneath a Brazilian bikini top.

There are a lot of traditions in the world that are moronic. Seems like a stupid idea to destroy your hearing like that.

Then again people do that at concerts, but at least music is higher quality.

Well...the vuvuzelas give you something to take your mind off the performance of Australia.

lol those damn vuvuzelas, I'm getting used to them, watching a match without hearing the zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz is boring now.

Did a little research, and here are my results. Univision, Vuvzelas are anoying and the only thing I understand is GOAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLL! ESPN/ABC the Vuvzelas are decent, and the comentators are ok. The Canucks almost silenced the Vuvzelas, but the comentary sucks. maybe it was the pair, only did it for one match.

They seem to be tradition in South Africa, and I don't want to mess with that.

They really annoyed me last year during the Condederations Cup, but they don't seem to be as loud this year, so they haven't really bugged me.

I saw that the Bild paper in Germany asked all the Bundesliga clubs if they would allow the horns into the German stadiums, and I think only about three teams had no problems with them, so I don't see it trending into Euro soccer.

I'm assuming Werder Bremen were one of the teams who opted to keep the vuvuzelas out of German football?

I honestly don't hear the vuvuzelas until someone mentions them or I look away and start doing something else -- Not much of an issue for me. I do know that Sky have added some sort of filter that mutes various frequencies so the vuvuzelas are much quieter than the normal broadcast. I think that's for Sky+ members only though.

I think ESPN has turned them down quite a bit from the Confed Cup.

My friends in SA said they sound a lot worse on TV than they do at the games.

I think it is very annoying for both spectators and soccer players. However, it is the identity of South Africa :D
