    BoBoBREWSKI BURP!

Not very fun predicting the score of a game like this.

    Sac St - 13
    Beavs - 47

  2. Eastoff

Eastoff But it was a beginning.

sure it is! It may be boring to predict the winner, but you can still try to guess the point spread.

    beavers:38
    Sac: 10

Last year Stanford beat SacSt. 52-17. Considering you lost 38-0 to Stanford last season...I'm predicting a 24-17 win for the rodents.

SacSt has a decent 3rd year starting QB, a RB who nearly hit 1000 yards last season and it appears they have more 300#'s across the line than OSU does.

Don't overlook this team, Beav fans.

You could be right. It could be an uncomfortably close game.

I was looking at SacSt's schedule results last season. A few things that jumped out at me was that they put 24 on Weber St (ranked 20), 25 on Montana (ranked 14) and 61 on 10th ranked Montana St. They closed the season strong with 4 out of 5 wins, scoring 113 points while only allowing 42 in those wins - including a win vs Portland St. Their only loss was by one point. A few years back they nearly beat Colorado St.

I don't know about the defense, but they return key offensive players. Oregon State on the other hand closed out last season with 4 losses in 5 games, including a blowout, a loss to a weak UCLA team and a trashing by WSU. OSU is replacing a lot of key players....

I know it's the Big Sky and all, but we've seen crazier things. App St and Michigan?

I'm just concerned at the loss of key players on OSU and the lack of talent and depth on the roster. While I can't say I've watched Sac St in depth, they appear to have a balanced offense that is capable of exploiting either run or pass defense based on matchups. This could be a close one. If it ends poorly for the Beavs, it sets the tone for a long season....

    SacSt's 2010 stats:
    Team Stats
    TDs Yds PassYds RushYds
    Offense 40 379.1 208.7 170.4
    Defense 33 334.0 221.6 112.4

Lack of talent? Obviously you don't know much about the OSU football program.

Obviously? Clearly you haven't read multiple news reports regarding the concerns this season. It's nothing against the team. Oregon has been there before too.

While Oregon has depth, you are a Frahm and Rogers and Katz away from a disaster of a season.

It's also possible that as Duck and Beavers, we have different aspirations and goals. I would say a five win season (like you just experienced) would be based on a lack of depth and talent to compete in the league. But, that's just me. If you lacked it last season when you had more experience at key positions, it's safe to say you MAY lack depth and talent.

I guess we'll see. Can we agree to let the season outcome decide this?

I'm not really interested in hearing about who your neighbor is. I can tell you that I know quite a bit about the team and I'll leave it at that.

And BTW... what do you think would happen to the Ducks if they lost LMJ, Thomas, and Harris?

What happen when we lost Masoli? Oh, yah. We put a SO first year starter on the field and he took us to another Pac10 Champ and NC game. We did lose LMJ when he was banged up and we also had games where Thomas was gimpy and sat. How did the season unfold for Oregon?

Bennett is our QB backup. He's a four star athlete, 6'3" around 195. He's had a great summer and fall. Strong runner and great arm. People are high on this kid.

If LMJ goes down, we have Barner - a proven runner who went for 4 TD's and over 300 AP yards in LMJ absence. Backing up Barner are guys who saw a bit of action in the confusion of sets - Huff, Hawkins can fill in. We also have this kid named De-Thomas, 5 star ranked #1 in nation. Losing Lache hurts but I understand why and wish him well.

We'll see at season end...I'm solid on my prediction of a 5 win season for this squad. If I'm right (or +/-1) probably safe to say I know at least jack, lol.

Do you think if I went back to bed it'd restart the day and there'd be a different outcome right now?
