Target is the shit. I'd be shocked if they folded. Their main competition is Wal-Mart but in the San Francisco area there are no walmarts (due to lack of rights/beneftis for their workers I believe) and I would imagine its the same in many other urban areas. They'll probably always have that niche as long as Wal Mart remains shrewd and K-Mart and other similar competitors are long gone.
In my hometown, we have Walmart, Target, K-Mart, and Shopko. Megastore win. Don't see Target going down. I'd imagine KMart and Shopko fold first before Target.
KMart is still around? Target has higher prices than Wal*Mart and Krogers, but that's okay because I think they have employee benefits. Wal*Mart hires a lot of part time employees in order to excuse not providing any employee benefits. It's part of Sam Walton's strategy to cut costs. I hate the fact that I still shop their. I'll stop being a hypocrite when this college thing ends.
Hey, that's my plan for summer work. You can't knock the benefits for some people that Walmarts employment strategy brings.
It's is shame to see companies go down though. W.H. Smith and some coffee shop folded a few weeks ago in the UK.
I haven't gone to Circuit City since I was like 16. It really started sucking and Best Buy blows them away
There is one Circuit City I know of and they are having a massive sale. I think I should just go in there and steal stuff. What can they say to me "Excuse me sir! We need to burn those things! Please put them back!". I need a new stereo anyway.
I went on Saturday, and the sales were nothing special at all. I'm sure they'll go down, but you gotta luck out and get there when that happens.
Woolies had a beastly sale, I got Wild Hogs on DVD for £3 (I was gonna put that in dollars, but I don't know the exchange rate )
