    I did Driver's Ed when I was 14... I get my intermediate (can drive by myself from 6 am to 10 pm) in a week. 15-permit. 15 1/2 - intermediate. 16 - license.

Well I referee soccer which is only in the Fall and Winter. Thats just how we do it here. Everyone gets it even if they don't have a car to drive. I don't have to pay insurance though.

I took driver's ed in school during the 1st semester last year. I have my permit, but even when I get my license my parents won't get me a car until college...

I was going to take driver's ed last summer, and my dad paid the full $200 dollars. Then we realized I was going out of town half of the days and we had to ask for a refund, but they didn't give us one, so we wasted $200 for nothing. Anyways, I have my liscense and a car now. I'm 17 now, so once I get off of my prohbation for this speeding ticket, I can go get my unrestricted.

I took it last May/June, I had just turned 15. I'm 16 now and have had my license for about a month and a half and haha its so fun. Still don't have my own car though but I can have my mom's anytime I pretty much want. Here you can take it 14 years and 9 months and then once you complete it you get your permit when you have to drive with an parent. Then after driving around on that for 6 months you take segment 2 and then get another permit which just says you completed seg 2, same rules apply have to drive with an adult. Then when you turn 16 you get your license. That's how it is here in Michigan.

The only reason people do it here is to get a certain percentage off your insurance.

Starting with my class(2010), they're not offering driver's ed anymore at school. At least in Oklahoma anyway. You have to pay for it now and take it on your own time. I'll be able to get my permit this December though.

We had to pay for yours too, but it was done through our school.

Drivers Ed was nothing exciting. You just learn the basic information. You don't need to be responsible to take it. You need to be responsible to drive.

I hate the whole process you have to go through. 9 months with a beginner's, 15 with an intermediate... it's really hurting my ability to drive. it would be easier if I could just drive after the 9 months without a dumb 15 month thing.now I havent driven in like 3 months and im probably going to fail my road test because of that
