Duke Loses to VCU

Duke is playing excellent on both sides of the court early one and lead it 18-9 with 11:40 remaining in the first half.

 

VCU is getting great looks, they just can't make layups.

 

Are you kidding me on that foul call on Paulus? That just took ALL of the momentum that VCU had just gotten away at halftime. If I was VCU I would definitely just let Paulus hurt you. He's fatigued, committed a bunch of turnovers and air balled 2 shots, while missing layups.

 

I think this is gonna be the thriller of the day. VCU is tiring Duke with their full court pressure, and their 3 point shooting's been keeping them in the game. Hopefully, they'll keep it up in the second half.

You honestly think that wasn't a foul? The contact was pretty clear. It was a mistake on VCU's part, not a mistake on the officials' part.

The anti-Duke bias is worse than the Duke bias.

 

Yea, it was a stupid decision on the VCU player's fault. He decided to tap him for some odd reason.

 

Damn, that alley-oop would've brought the house down.

 

If VCU would stop with making poor mistakes they could still take this one.

Why the blind hate for Duke? You don't even follow college basketball, and you picked Duke to win the game!

I don't get it. Duke is the strongest school in DI academically that can offer scholarships (meaning the strongest non-Ivy), they're classy as hell, and they're extremely talented and well coached. Why the blind hate?

America hates them because they win, because they have a legacy, and because 99.9% of the population would have no chance of being accepted into the university.

Face the facts though, it's the most tribal, primative form of hate to hate Duke.

If anything, you should hate VCU. Did you see them out there? That Maynor kid for VCU is the biggest cheap shot artist in college basketball. Every minute the punk was in Paulus' face or throwing an elbow. I know the tendancy is to say that the reffs are biased in Duke's favor, but it seemed to be the other way around tonight.
