    Anyone here fasting?
I am going to fast all 30 days. Basically, you can't eat anything from sunrise to sunset. It is your choice to fast. If you choose to fast all 30 days, you cant eat anything from sunrise to sunset. Today was the first day. And I am already hungry with like 3 more hours to go. I am real hungry, but I still wanna do it. So who here is fasting?

No only from sunrise to sunset. Like I wake up a little before sunrise, and eat a lot. Then sleep, and I cant eat till sunset. I dont have to do this, but I am anyway to get good deeds. I can eat after sunset.

I know some people who are going to fast. I've always been amazed by players like Olajuwon and Abdur-Rahim, who were able to play basketball while fasting.

Did you guys know that Olajuwon prayed while in basketball games? Like betweeen a timeout or halftime, he would go pray and come back in the next dead ball. That is amazing.

I remember when the Rockets were having the championship parade downtown and Hakeem left early because he had to pray....he's really dedicated to Islam.

I was gonna make a thread for this but thanks Umair. Yeah I'm fasting too. I'm gonna fast for all of the days. Hakeem was a real dedicated Muslim. I can't believe he fasted while playing basketball. I would get thirsty.

When he played for the Knicks I remember Nazr Mohammed doing the same thing. He was understandably a bit sluggish. Good luck with that. A few of my friends do the same thing.

Yeah, alot of my friends are doing it as well. I have quite a lot of respect for anyone who can do it all 30 days, which is almost everyone I know who does it. Sometimes though, people chew gum or drink water by mistake.

How young to people start this? I could never make it through cross country without water. Keep it up guys, that seems tough.

I don't have to go to P.E. for a month. It's tough when your at school and others are eating. You could start at the age of 10, I think.

Do you get a note to be excused from P.E.? Or do a lot of people in your school do this so it's allowed.

For those who do fast, do you fast when you're sick? All of my friends who do fast usually make an exception to not fast when they are.

Alot of people who fast bring notes and teachers don't make us go to PE. Some people mostly Indian people (not to be rude) lie to teachers and say there Muslim so they dont have to go to PE too. They look Muslim so teachers think they are. [IMG] Indians, Pakis, and Afghans look the same most of the time.
