I got a couple stupid questions I need answering:-What does "GFX" stand for-Why are sigs usually around 400x100, isnt it logical to make it fit perfect with your screen size?-When did the GFX thing start? Like the whole sig making of sports and music?

400*100 looks best to most people, including me.

^^ Yeah, 400x100 looks pretty good and is used mostly on forums and websites, mainly because it is a decent size but yet effective at the same time. When you have a website or forum, you don't want a sig to distract you away from the main point of the site or forum, that's one of the reasons why 400x100 is a commonly used size for a sig.And I'm not sure, when the whole GFX thing started but I'm sure it was when the programs such as Photoshop, Paintshop, etc. first came out and they were probably first used for advertising products and stuff so maybe it just carried over into the regular public. :dunno:

I would imagine GFX started some time around 1999 when forums were invented.

I don't know where the whole sig making thing came out or when forums were even invented. But my first exposure to sig making (before I started making them) was on Pistons.com messageboard.that was like 4 years ago too.
