I really don't mind usign it one time to learn how to do a certain (prob. popular) effect, eTC. But some people fire up a tut. everytime they do a chop and that is just wrong.

Well, I found quite a lot of different tuts for polar coordinates and wind effects. They were basically some which you would call just to copy but as DajuanWagner said they show you the potential and the way you can use them. Which helped me a lot. Together with your own imagination you can create new and other stuff. Trying to figure this all out by your own is sometimes really time-intensive and can be really dissatisfying. But seeing and working through those tuts can give you new inspiration. After a while you know how to use most of the stuff and you don't need tuts as much as at the beginning but I like to look at them to get new inspiration.

I still think its better to not use tutorials ,your work may be real robotic and by the book and nothing unique will be developed. But i can also understand the view that some people may need them to start and do not posess the experimental mindset.

I am still learning and never needed any help,i just keep using techniques over and over and discover the best, however i do agree with this statement by Dajuan Wagner.Sometimes tutorials are essential for people to get the best of the certain effect, but still that is possible for yourself to discover ,like me.

this is really funny because i should go to walls-cave and in the walls section find a guy who's name's MARCOOL he made very wall in paint shop pro [IMG] heh then you will know that it has tons of options [IMG]

I dont know about everyone else, but I love to learn by using tutorials. Good Tutorialz ownz all! After the tutorial I try to extend it on my own. Tutorials are like going to school. You need classes before you can write your own thesis.
