Why is it that NBA players, NFL players, NHL players are expected to be very strong, and in most cases look VERY ripped....but if a MLB player is very strong, he gets accused of using steriods? I understand MLB has a big steriod scandal and all of that....but why can't MLB players be very strong and develope muscle over time like any other athlete in a professional sports without getting questioned? I'm not just talking about now, but over the past 15 years, you have people going back and they pick out players who looks very big and automaticly get the question/get accused.
After all the MLB players that have used or have been accused of using steroids it's hard not to think every big dude takes them. I mean, it's not just about picking out the big guys, it's the big guys hitting homeruns that become big like a year after they were skinny and not as good hitting the ball. What people look for is dramatic improvement and size. Can players do that without streroids? Sure but it doesn't happen very often. A good example of a good player that hits well without steroids is Albert Pujols.

There was a good post on FPM about this, but that was last year and it'll be almost impossible to dig it up so sorry I can't add anything here.
I'm pretty sure MLB players have the time to lift weights...even though it is a demanding sport, time wise.
They probably don't have any time to lift weights..and when they do have time it isn't appropriate for them to be lifting weights..probably just during the offseasonyour body parts (depending on what area you worked on) hurt the day after you lift weights and MLB players have to play nearly every single day getting maybe 2-4 days off without games a month at best
You dont hurt everyday you lift, only at first.. I'm pretty sure baseball players can lift in the morning (if there at home), than have some practice before a game, then play.. Some of you may not know Herschel Walker, one of the most exciting running backs that ive ever seen, played football for UGA. He was huge, and ripped - all he did was push ups and sit ups, never lifted weights. You dont always have to lift weights to get big..
Baseall is a slow game. In an NBA game the average NBA starter runs about 4 miles total in a game. Basketball is a much more physically demanding sport. So is football where you always need a physical advantage over the other players. Another reason for this is that basketball players are so big so most people naturally assume they'd have bigger muscles. The average NBA player is 6'7". The average baseball players is what? 6 feet? Pitchers are taller, but they are generally not the one's batting. NFL players are usually around 6'4" and everyone knows they have to work out all the time because of how physically demanding football is. Baseball players do not do much physical activity other than throwing and batting so obviously extra muscle is going to look questionable. Besides, steroids would not clearly give an NBA or NFL player an edge because both sports are easily dominatable by finesse. In baseball steroids give players a huge advantage since arm strength and coordination are pretty all the game requires.

The only NBA player that I know of that got busted was Don MacLean a few years back.

Not to mention the mad long seasons, they can play 2-5 game series one after the other. If you look at an MLB schedule, your looking at maximum 5 days rest. The Blue Jays had only two this month. Three if you count a postponed game. Players cant go to a gym 5 days a week, they go twice a month. Try getting ripped on that excersise schedule.
