If and when he leaves Texas where do you think he will go in the draft?I think that with his size and ability that he will be picked in the top 12 or so.... I think he can be an effective player in the NBA, especially for a team that needs a big man.
He's probably staying in Texas after his poor ending. If he does go he's a top 5 pick but I think he's an overrated prospect. He's soft...he's sort of like Channing Frye.
And Channing has a better range... based on a few games I saw him play, he's very raw offensively. Maybe he'll be a top 5 pick, but it'd be based on talent, not need.
I think he should enter in the draft. It is true that if he waits longer his stock will drop down to younger guys. He is a great player and I think NBA scouts can see that.He has a decent jumper, nice jumphook. He is really athletic and he can run a break and finish with a dunk, he has some nice inside post moves, decent rebounder, nice shotblocker and improved defense. He shoots at a very efficient rate (63 percent). Mainly because he gets inside points with ease using his strength and quicknes and athleticism.I think he will be top 5 for sure. No matter how he did in the tourny.
he already said he is staying at Texas. Next year's draft will be alot better, but he should go bc SIZE + ATHLETICISM = POTENTIAL!
Their is a reason LaMarcus went to college in the first place, he was not in the same class as some his class. He's only proven my assumptions right since he's been at Texas, he just doesn't really play overly hard and plays weak for a center. The only reason he's considered top 5 right now is because this has the potential to be the worst draft of all time and i'm not kidding. In anyother draft he's be around 10 of so.
I think Aldridge would fill the 4 spot in the NBA, not the center spot, and i think he would be a good player in the NBA. Once again, he will be a top 5 pick in the NBA, and i think that if you can be a top 5 pick there is no reason to go to school for another year. Go get the millions, because it would suck if he stayed at college for another year and got hurt. With the millions he makes, if he does get hurt, Aldridge can go back and pay for school. I think that Aldridge has a world of talent, and i really like his game. I think it would translate over to the NBA really well. If he goes, there is a good chance that the Bulls would pick him up, which would be a nice place to land. The Bulls have the outside game to open it up for Aldridge down low. I think that Aldridge could become like a Chris Bosh, or even possibly an Elton Brand in the NBA.
Their games are not the same, but i said Elton Brand because i think that he will be a potential 20 point, 10 rebound person every night, just like Brand is.
LaMarcus Aldridge is much more comparable to Jermaine O'Neal. Brand plays like a beast all the time, he has a small and compact body, plays hard nosed defense, not much like Aldridge.
I was thinking about the Elton Brand comparison at work today. I like your comparison to Jermaine O'neal alot more though. Your right, Aldridge has the long arms and body more like an O'neal than a Brand. Aldridge does seem to shy away from contact, especially on the defensive end of the floor. He doesn't like to get touched very much, and doesn't like to play defense especially against someone physical downlow with him.

I personally think suns could use this guy. He has some size that the suns need and he's got the skill to keep up with that size. read an article about him in slam.
dont the suns get two hawk picks from the boris diaw/joe johnson trade?? if they do, they might very well be able to get lamarcus Aldridge
Just looked it upThey receive 2 picks- 1 from the Celtics (which could be the Lakers from the Payton deal)The other is the Hawks pick (lotto protected this year, top 3 protection next year, no protection year after that)
