<div class="quote_poster">Quoting M Two One:</div><div class="quote_post">Most people that are Metrosexual are that for a trend because of people like David Beckham and Brad Pitt. They believe it will give them more attention from women. The real definition of one is someone who takes better care of themselves, nicely dressed (I don't mean a suit but don't be a slob), and into a few feminine things. Its not much of a big deal.</div>

Yeah but the guy I was talking about gets artificial tans, gets his eyebrows done, etc.

Yeah that's what I responded to in my first post is that getting your eyebrows done is no longer Metrosexual. You're just looking for attention or you just want to be gay. Metrosexual is about improving yourself in appearance and health, not altering it or in that case messing it the **** up. Eek!!

I dont get why because someone wears good clothes out and smells nice they have to have a label.

I do that now and before the term was ever used, and I'd kick my own ass if I was ever called a meterosexual.
I take pride in how I look because I am not a slob, not because I want to be part of the new 'fad'.

And any guy who wears a pink shirt is more gay then they think. It's just wrong

A lot of the 'harder' guys in my school rock pink...I wouldn't consider them gay, but it just means they want more attention drawn towards themselves.

I think it's just flat out strange to wear a bright pink long tee in an attempt to stand out. The only way I'd wear pink was if it was on a black golf shirt with pink and black stripes. I've seen that and it's actually a pretty hot combo...but again, black is the primary color, not the pink. Large pink tees are just to get attention in my opinion.

I think the labelling starts when straight men become obsessed with thier appearance to the point that they regularly pluck, fix, and thread thier eyebrows, make sure they have less hair then even some women do on thier face, and basically do more feminine activities towards thier appearance then the next average man.

I wouldn't call it homosexual or even borderline homosexual if STRAIGHT men are doing it to improve thier appearance. As long as they are sexually attracted towards females, they are not homosexuals, they're just self-obsessed to an extreme point. I think it's wrong for guys to go that far, but it's not necessarily a 'homosexual' thing to do.

I don't really believe in labels as someone else said before me. I like to look presentable, but for my own gain. I have more confidence in my self and feel more comfortable if I'm well groomed and clothed. Sure, it goes on to say that when you're in a club or in any kind of social gathering you're bound to get more attention if you keep your body healthy, well groomed, and wear nice threads that present your features more vividly. It's not something to be ashamed of, and you're just as much a man as the lumberjack next door. You're that much of a man because you have different understanding of yourself and you choose to exemplify it the best you can. I guess you could classify me the GQ guy, but with much less interest in designer clothes. There are things that every guy should better himself through and appearance is one. However, you shouldn't let it overcome you and let it change you into someone that you were not before because it might be the recent "fad" or because you want to boost your ego, as that is the most dangerous thing.

Yup, I co-sign that. I completely agree with you.

I don't think it's possible for me to be metrosexual. What with my Mufasa-like beard and all. The term is kind of stupid anyway. As if keeping yourself looking nice mean you are less of a man, or something.

And I do have a pink dress shirt. It looks wicked with my black suit.

I don't think "looking good" and metrosexual are the same thing. Sure it's a big part but not all of it. Metros are into fashion way more than a normal man and tend to give off a homo vibe. I think considering yourself a metrosexual is like considering yourself emo or gangster or any other fad... it just makes you look like a jackass.

I wear designer clothes and try to look my best but i'd never consider myself a metrosexual. I'm too much of a slob and my morals are way too low to try to act feminine.

How does wearing punk make you gay? If your not secure enough about your manhood where you think wearing pink makes you gay..you have serious problems bro. I have pink polos and dress shirts. I like to look good all the time and I take care of myself but you bet your ass I'm straight.

Not sure if this was directed towards me or I Miss MJ, but I only have a problem with pink when it comes to wearing large pink tees. I think pink looks good with black in any case (suit or striped polo's)...I just think wearing a bright pink tee to make a statement is unecessary. I don't think it's gay, just attention whoreish.

I hate pink tees. Pink dress shirts are fine by me but tees just look awful now. I mean it was ok before, but now it's too much.

I'm with you on the long tee thing. Any long tee looks stupid IMO.

Agreed. I hate that whole "gangsta" look that was in fashion a couple of years ago. I'd rather dress more proper...I guess you could say I have a preppyish/ginoish dressing style. Long tees are annoying. I especially hate it when newly turned gangsters who were nerdy guys the year before rock tees that are 5 x bigger then they are.

I'm a mix. If I'm going out I'll pull out an Abercrombie button up or a lacoste but during the day I'm all about t shirt with basketball shorts.
