Now he is going to get a second chance starting this Sunday as #60 for the San Diego Chargers.

Remmers was on his way to go bass fishing with a teammate in Florida when his agent called. The San Diego Chargers were in need of an offensive lineman, and signed Remmers. He'll be in uniform and on the Chargers' active roster when San Diego plays the Indianapolis Colts on Monday night. When Remmers called his fiancee, Kelly, she burst into tears on the other end of the phone.

She said: "He's the hardest working person I know. I'm so proud."

COLLEGE/PERSONAL:
Started 44 games at Oregon State (2008- 11), including every game his final three seasons.
His 44 career starts are the sixth-most in Beavers history.
Finalist for Burlsworth Trophy in 2011, given annually to the best player in the country that began his career as a walk-on.
Moved from right to left tackle in 2011.
All-Pac-10 Honorable Mention in 2010.
Started seven games as a freshman in 2009.
Majored in media communications.
Attended Jesuit High School (Tampa, Florida).
Visited youth at All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg and sang holiday carols to residents at Westminster Palms retirement home in December 2012.
Helped distribute food during 'Turkey Time with the O-Line', a Thanksgiving program sponsored by the offensive line, which provided 700 meals for local needy families in 2012.
