Was just thinking about the biggest miscarriages of justice in Football and wondered what everyone thought in their opinion was the worst. I'll start you off with a slightly biased example from my time watching Sunderland in case you can't remember it: Sunderland were playing at Tranmere in the FA Cup and we were playing shockingly! We had gone a goal down (Wayne Allison?) and with minutes to go we won a free kick which lead to a Tranmere player (Clint Hill? My memory is poor!) being sent off for a second yellow. Astonishingly, John Aldridge substituted him as he was leaving the field of play, and the officials allowed it! (Rob Styles?) Tranmere then had a full compliment of players to defend the free-kick which ultimately led to nothing. At this point, the 4th official had signalled for 3 minutes of stoppage time, but because everyone had spotted that 11 men were still on the pitch, the ref blew up early. What did the FA do? Jack sh!t. We were rubbish that day and deserved nothing, but who says we couldn't have scored in injury time against 10 men? And what right did the ref have to deprive us of that chance? The game should have been replayed and John Aldridge knew exactly what he was doing. If he didn't, he shouldn't have been in the game. Where is Aldridge now? Come to think of it, where are Tranmere?! So can you think of any miscarriages of justice?
