this was the first person to welcome me to the Timbers Army. She made me feel like I had been a part of things for years. If you are going to the match tomorrow, and are able, please bring a Rose to leave on her seat. There will be about a 20 minute memorial before kickoff.
I sat and chatted with Gisele on one of the benches outside of the park after the home opener. It was nice to see her and to catch up a bit after the long off season. So many people stopped by to give her a hug before they left for home that I joked with her that she was definitely the most hugged person in the TA. I would often sit on a bench outside PGE after games and chat with her about the match a little before I left for home. In past seasons I would often go up and stand next to Gisele whenever the team was playing like shit or the game got really tense. Some times I'd watch the whole game with her. I used to be one of the many people to always pat her on the shoulder on their way down to 107 or 106, but as the TA section(s) swelled it became near impossible to roll in at 6:45p and find an open spot somewhere in the heart of the TA. Around that time I started to sit and chat with her regularly after games. It was always a pleasure to sit and talk with her about soccer and hear all the stories about the NASL days. I'm happy I got to see her before she passed. Gisele is certainly one of the kindest souls I've ever had the pleasure of knowing.
