The best pitching prospect in baseball is getting his first start tonight: Tim Lincecum"The right-hander, selected 10th overall in the 2006 first-year player draft from Washington, has been dominating this year with Triple-A Fresno. Over five starts, Lincecum was 4-0 with an 0.29 ERA, allowing one run and 12 hits in 31 innings. He's also struck out 46, including 14 last Sunday against Colorado Springs."The future of San Francisco's starting pitching looks good, we just need a better bullpen.Any predictions on the numbers Lincecum will post tonight? My best guess: 6.0 IP, 4 ER, 8 K's

4.1 IP, 5 H, 5 R, 4ER, 5 BB, 5K, 2 HRNot exactly a stellar perofmance by any means but I did see some positives with this kid. He gave up a hit on one of his very first pitches than gave up a home run right after that. He was down 2-0 in the first inning of his first major league start. He did have a little bit of poise after that but it wasn't the best start for this young kid. Interesting side note, what they said about him batting was hilarious. He batted once in high school and pulled his back out, since then, he never batted until yesterday for the Giants? Weird, but interesting.

Yeah, does that mean they have a DH in the Pacific Coast League? Sounds like he got a crash course on hitting right before the game, but he's not here for hitting. Aside from giving up that bomb to Howard, he also managed to strike him out with a 97 mph fastball. Hopefully most of those control problems were just because of pregame jitters. Lincecum and Cain will be big in the future.

I've never heard about him until I saw this list...
