    The Gudjohnsen saga<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">[IMG]

Eidur Gudjohnsen is not the only member of his family who plays for Bar?a. His son Sveinn is playing for one of the youth teams, following in family tradition that started with his father Arnor Gudjohnsen.

Eidur Gudjohnsen is attached to Bar?a in more ways than one. Not only is he supplying goals, but also playing resources! His son Sveinn is following in his father's footsteps and currently plays for the Benjam?n B team, the rough equivalent to an Under 10s team.

    Family tradition

The Gudjohnsen family has always been involved in football. The Icelander's father was also professional and among other teams played for Anderlecht, and father and son even played together in the Iceland team once. This is less likely to happen with the latest generation because Eidur was 27 when his son was born, and so there is a considerable age gap.

    No advice

Gudjohnsen takes a great deal of interest in his son's progress and watches as many games as he can, but tries to avoid giving him advice, feeling that is the responsibility of the club coaches. But that is not the case the other way round, as it seems Gudjohnsen is constantly being told by his son to score more goals for Bar?a!.

Gudjohnsen is delighted that his son is getting this chance in the youth ranks of FC Barcelona. While his dad was at Chelsea, Sveinn played for a different team, but with Bar?a's excellent youth football structure, Eidur is able to see his son progressing at the same club he joined as a professional last summer.</div>Thought this was particularly sweet, I hope he rises through the ranks and one day plays for Barca. Although you have to wonder, guddy would have to be living in Barcelona for a few years yet in order to feel comfortable enough to leave his child there if he ever left.

If he turns out anything like his dad he will be a great player, I honestly feel if Chelsea had kept him and played him up front with Drogba, you would be 6 points ahead of us, Eidur would have complimented Drogba's game perfectly, lets hope is son is as good.
