Liverpool may be about to be taken over, injecting millions into the club. A month back, any Liverpudlian would have wanted to throw money at the transfer market, but now Liverpool have gone 6 Premiership games without conceding and have scored 11 goals in the last 3 games. So when 2007 comes, who does Rafa Benitez attempt to buy? In Goal - Pepe Reina had a dodgy start to the season but now has gained confidence and is playing very well. Jerzy Dudek may wish to leave the club due to not playing 1st team football so perhaps a lower league keeper should be brought in as cover for Reina. Defence - Surely doesn't need much change after 6 clean sheets. Carragher, Hyypia and Agger give Rafa a selection problem after all three are playing well. Warnock, Riise and Aurelio can all play at left back so I think Rafa needs to look on the right where - although he is very good - Steve Finnan is our only right back. Spanish defender Daniel Alves would definately be worth considering. Midfield - The heart of our squad and doesn't look like it needs changing. Gerrard and Alonso both on superb form. Pennant and Gonzalez are improving constantly and we have Paletta, Zenden and Sissoko who are all back from injury in early 2007. I can't see where it needs changing. Up front - Bellamy and Crouch? Crouch and Kuyt? Bellamy and Kuyt? How about bringing in another striker? Fowler isn't looking as good in his "second coming" and we do still miss Michael Owen. Crouch, Kuyt and Bellamy will all score goals but none will get anywhere near the golden boot prize. I think Rafa should consider a 20-30 goal per season striker to rival Drogba or Henry.
hopefully they dont get adriano. Chelsea would be so much better with Zlatan imbrohimovic. can't we just swap Crespo for Zlatan??
Zlatan's style isn't suited for English football, IMO. His style involves alot of free room to move about and that's something he will hardly ever get here. Although it would be nice to see him try, just my prediction is a massive flop and thats the last thing Chelsea need right now.
