Alright, I hope that everyone appreciates this post, because it took many hours of my life (and a hell of a lot of patience) to put it together. Using the mock lottery program on ESPN.com, I was able to determine which players certain teams were most interested in. I gathered at least the top three players wanted for every team in the order they are wanted, plus additional players for some teams. Then, I listed other players teams are interested in listed as well. These other players are appealing, but just would not selected in the top three. For the "other interest(s)," the player that the team is most interested in is listed first, the player that the team is second most interested in is listed second, and so on and so forth. Enjoy.

Thanks for taking time to do that MaxBallin. [IMG]

From judging from what I see above and also what I have read the consensus is that Williams, Bogut and Paul will all be the top three picks in the draft regardless of who gets those draft choices.

The thing I am most interested in is who will take the risk on Martynas Andriuskevicius, and whether teams are looking at Deron Williams over Raymond Felton or visa versa.

I am suprised that I do not see Gerald Green that high on people's draft lists. From what I have seen, read, and watched - he looks like he is going to be an explosive beast in the NBA.

    No problem, Hunter.

In terms of Williams, Bogut, and Paul being in the top three no matter who gets the picks, that's not exactly the case. The Charlotte Bobcats have Gerald Green ranked third overall ahead of Andrew Bogut and the Portland Trail Blazers have Martynas Andriuskevicius ranked third overall ahead of Chris Paul.

From my research, the only teams I found that would be willing to take the risk on Andriuskevicius were the Trailblazers, the Knicks, and the Lakes. It seems to be pretty split down the middle in the race between Raymond Felton and Deron Williams.

Finally, the reason that you do not see Gerald Green on everybody's draft lists is because he is being selected higher than their picks in all of the mocks. Whenever New Orleans and Charlotte are dropping down to the four and fifth picks, they're both grabbing him immediately. Additionally, the final seven picks aren't getting a chance at him because when he falls past the first five or six picks, the Toronto Raptors are picking him every time at seven. I'm sure that he will be the explosive beast that everyone is predicting him to be. However, I'd bet that he won't be anywhere near all-star caliber until at least his third season in the league.

    Thanks for the scenarios, MaxBallin!

Is that some kind of sick joke? Gerald Green is right there at #4 in one of the scenarios, and you are surprised that he isn't that high? The only reason he's that high on people's draft boards to begin with is because it's a weak High School class this year and the fact that there is a lack of Shooting Guards in the draft. Teams want to draft someone with potential to be great, and after the consensus top three, Green is probably the only player with that potential. However, he has a much bigger risk. He didn't really come onto the scene until his Junior year, and ever since he has just been dominating small competition. He can get by them with his quickness and athleticism, but he's not going to be able to do that in the NBA. Besides, the kid is rail thin and has a bad work ethic. When was the last time a High School star made it without a good work ethic? The last time I checked, every NBA star out of High School had a great work ethic, and those who didn't (Kwame, Curry, Bender, etc.) have been miserable failures.

Actually, from what I've heard and been told, his work ethic was very misjudged. He has had a couple private workouts already, and the trainers who have been working with him have all said they underestimated the time and effort this kid would put into this. He has reportedly already gained 10lbs of muscle in the last couple months and rumor has it, would like to get into Chicago to begin work with Tim Grover. His goal is to bump his Mickey D's weigh in total (195) up to about 215-220. He is already at 205. So, in my opinion, we, nor should anyone, judge this kid or anyone for that matter, off of reports. Of course, a couple years down the line, feel free to bash the hell out of him! LOL

Well, if you can't go off reports and game tapes are limited, then what can you go off? I trust sources that have scouts working for them and charge money for people to read them, so when they say that many General Managers and NBA scouts believe Green is lazy, inconsistent, or has a bad work ethic, I'll tend to believe it.

The display Green put on at McDonald told me he had worked on various skills-and with good results. His offense,as is,is NBA ready. he seemed to pass well, but it wasn't a format to show how dedicated he is on D. Marvin, and all the imports, need to add elements, skills to their toolbox to even start. In this draft, half the projected lottery guys-as is,can't start. They need to matchup to the visions some have of their potential.
The Warriors certainly would take Bogut if given the opportunity. I doubt they want Vasquez over the better college F's. If they picked 3rd,Paul would not be the guy. Baron Davis and D Fish are experianced and with heavy contracts,so Paul would rarely play. The Warriors,I think would take Green if picking anywhere but #1.

I'm just going by what the scouts and GM's I've spoken to have told me. That's a source I trust. I'll see for myself next week in Chicago and let you all know the real scoop on what I can see with my own 2 eyes.

It will be great to get a direct report, especially on the better HS prospects. I'm curious about Blatche and Bynum who may be at least as ripe as many of the imports, and with as much potential.

The HS kid I'm hoping to get a look at actually is Martell Webster. The more film I watch on this kid, the more I'm liking him. His size and body at about 6-7 230, is going to be a hell of a lot to handle. His shot is already taylor made for the Leauge, I just wish he'd use his athleticism more, and rely less on his outside shot. I think he'd be a great fir in a system like Orlando, LA Clippers, or if he slides, even at home in Seattle.
