This is not mentioned in the article but it is very possible the new coach is getting a dual role as coach and GM and the coach could very well be Flip Saunders. </div> <div align="center">Source</div> Definitly didn't see it coming. Specially that we're a month away from the draft.
Good, this guy pulled off 2 of the worst trades of all time. Gooden/Verajao/Hunter for Battie, and McGrady for Francis.
Well it was about time .. The guy has been a total dumbass throughout his tenure as the GM. Go back to hockey. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Good, this guy pulled off 2 of the worst trades of all time. He pulled, IMO, a worse trade than the latter. Cuttino for Christie was stupid. Christie is older, Cuttino is a better scorer, and can become a way better defender, if he was pushed to do so. Even if he didn't resign, there's always a chance, especially if they made the playoffs. The best they could've done is do a sign and trade with someone, get a few first rounders, or a guy like Shareef and put him at the 3. Trade Francis for a legit big-man, or a first rounder and some change. Send him to the Clippers .. Sterling and Baylor aren't too smart. PG: Nelson SG: Hedo SF: Abdur-Rahim PF: Howard C: Brand? Wilcox? I'm just rationalizing, the Francis trade could've happened two seasons ago, but now .. maybe. The S&T with Cat and SAR is very possible, they should've considered resigning Mobley before they decided to trade him.. Just my 2 cents.

This guy pulled two trades where he got the worst player out of it. I understand the McGrady trade, it had to be done. But in the Battie trade, he managed to get possibly the worst player out of the 4 (battie) and he clearly got the inferior player in the Mobley trade. This team is left with enough good talent to be contenders again with a few nice moves.

Yeah that Battie trade was pretty stupid. They could have had a nice backcourt set for years with Howard, Varejao, and Gooden.
