Im I hearing things correct, is weisbord out of the magic office now which the orlando sentinel is reporting, some one has to fill me in. what the hell happened, damn i wouldnt expect to much outta this years draft and free agency now.
It was reported on ESPN.com and they say and annoucement will be made today. Man this really sucks because this could delay our search for a coach and change what we do in the draft and free agency like you said.
Iam glad hes gone Promote Otis Smith to Gm and Hire Chris Jent to take Otis's spot. Flip Saunders should be the coach as Otis,Dave and Rich have the final say in whos going to be the coach it shouldnt really slow down the process.
The Draft will basically depend on the lottery tonight. I still think we have better scouts now and will be able to do the draft. FA we won't make a big splash, because we don't really have any money, we just have the 2 exceptions,(I think MLE is like in the 4.5-5 mil range and LLE is 1-2 range). I wouldn't be surprised if we split the MLE to add more depth, rather than one player like we did with Hedo and Juwan the last 2 years. Don't be expecting us to sign anyone that's really that good. We might get Stro though, I heard if we got Mussellman, Stro would follow him here and that would be awesome, Stro at PF and Dwight at C would be a very good young frontcourt tandem. Don't expect anything better than Stro though.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Bulldozer can sleep now. That was the message John Weisbrod and the Magic tried to deliver Monday. They wanted to explain why the general manager resigned at one of the franchise's more critical junctures. It came down to the envelope that had been sitting on Weisbrod's desk. It contained a new contract proposal from the Magic. Weisbrod just stared at it for three days and couldn't bring himself to open it. "I really got convicted about the fact that if I were to sign another contract and stay here, that perhaps that wouldn't be in the best interest of the organization," he said. Weisbrod is gone, but he will not soon be forgotten. Weisbrod, 36, rocketed up the RDV Sports management chain, going from the general manager of the Orlando Solar Bears in 1997 to Magic chief operating officer. Along the way, he fired two coaches and engineered the trade of Tracy McGrady in a massive roster realignment. The Magic improved from 21 to 36 wins this season, but they fizzled down the stretch and didn't make the playoffs. That led to the search for a new coach, which should officially end today with the hiring of Brian Hill. Weisbrod's blunt style alienated some, but Magic officials said it was not an issue with any of the coaching candidates. "I didn't leave because of adversity or disagreement," Weisbrod said. "My decision had nothing to do with the coaching search process. It's a coincidence that it's happening at the same time." The Magic are also preparing for the June 28 draft, and there's the ongoing arena issue. Weisbrod essentially said he is having a mid-life hockey crisis and didn't feel he could commit himself fully to the Magic. "It's not in the best interest of the organization of having a GM that, in his heart, would trade three NBA championships for one Stanley Cup," he said.</div> Why Weisbrod Left...
