<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Tahsmith:</div><div class="quote_post">lemme find a link here</div> A link won't mean anything, because these are just poorly thoughtout rumors that some local writers thought up for lack of a better topic. Let's just look at the facts for a moment. - His school just went to their fourth Final Four in just seven years. - He is bringing in a team that is in the preseason top five. - He is looking at one of the best recruiting classes since the Fab Five if Greg Oden choses Michigan State over Indiana, Ohio State, and Wake Forest. - He has had multimillion dollar offers from NBA teams in the past, such as the Hawks and Cavaliers, and he has turned them both down. - He has what could be the most state of the art office and workout facility for any coach (college or pro) in the world. - He has the #1 NCAA Tournament winning percentage of all-time. - In the NCAA, fans love the coaches more than NBA fans do. In the NBA, fans would rather meet Kobe Bryant than Frank Hamblen, but in the NCAA Michigan State fans would rather meet Tom Izzo than Jason Richardson and Zach Randolph. - He has his own student section named the "Izzone". - He has unlimited job security. - He has spent twenty-two long years on the coaching staff at Michigan State. Now after considering all of those points, then why would he consider leaving all of that for a coaching job in the NBA that is both unstable and unpredictable? At Michigan State, he'll have a job for the rest of his life along with the support from the fans. You want him to throw twenty-two years of his life and all of those benefits away for a chance to coach on the "next level"? I'm sorry, but to some coaches, the NCAA is the next level.
The Orlando Magic have expedited their pursuit of former Timberwolves coach Flip Saunders, but it's doubtful the Magic would be willing to pay the $8 million a year Portland Trail Blazers owner Paul Allen is expected to offer Saunders. San Antonio Spurs assistant P.J. Carlesimo remains a serious candidate for the Timberwolves' head coaching job, but word is Michigan State's Tom Izzo now is considering the Wolves' interest. If Izzo were to leave Michigan State, it might help the Gophers' chances of recruiting Braham, Minn., 6-foot-7 junior Isaiah Dahlman. Right now, Michigan State, Iowa and the Gophers are 1-2-3 in the Dahlman sweepstakes http://www.twincities.com/mld/twincities/s...rs/11690921.htm

I also think it's funny that it mentions Isaiah Dahlman. He's a great prospect, but would probably only be our fourth or fifth best recruit if Greg Oden commits to us.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Tahsmith:</div><div class="quote_post">well sorry, should i only post true facts on this board no rumors or anything???</div> If you're going to psot rumors, then be sure to post a link so we don't think you are just making it up. Like I said in another thread, Izzo is smart enough to know that the NBA is not for him. He's an elite coach on the college level and going to the NBA would diminish that.
