If Phil Jackson returns to coaching this season, it sure looks and sounds like it's going to be with his Los Angeles Lakers. "L.A. seems to be the one place where there's really such a public outcry for a return, a rejuvenation, a redemption story, so to speak," Jackson told the Orange County Register. "It's very intriguing." . . . Philadelphia 76ers free-agent center Samuel Dalembert, who is a native of Port-au-Prince, Haiti, is making it known that he would love to hear offers from a team that could get him closer to his homegrown climate. That sounds like an invitation for the Orlando Magic.

if sammy leaves philly for orlando, or any other team, i will be pissed [IMG] . after reading this, what are the chances you guys think of sammy resigning?

Well the 76ers can match any offer for Sammy since he's a restricted free agent. Right now his stock is at an all time high after his playoff performance against the Pistons. A report came out saying he doesn't want to return of O'Brien is still the head coach in Philly. (article posted in the Rumor Mill Forum)

These feuds often work themselves out, and Sammy isn't really in a position to demand much. He could try to follow Stromile Swift and sign for 1 year and then become unrestricted next summer, but I don't think the 76ers are going to let him go without getting proper compensation for Dalembert.

fine, sign him to a one year deal and then trade him, since his stock is high, and since he probably won't be returning after the season. who know? we might even trade him for a high draft choice next year, since we don't have a first rounder next year. but, considering its billy king, he might just come up with the stupid idea of signing him for one season and then letting him leave the next without anything back. The 76ers aren't going to let Dalembert walk away. I think they'll match any offer for him, if they don't then we might see a sign and trade deal. In the end I can bet you that Dalembert will still be a 76er.

With O'Brien gone, I don't think 76er fans have to worry about Dalembert not playing for the team next season.
