He will be gone, it's almost a guarantee at this point. He's an unrestricted free agent so the Grizzlies cannot match the offer he gets. He does not get along with Mike Fratello so he's pretty much seen his last days as a Memphis Grizzlie.

    He won't be back.

He's good in plenty of other places...Atlanta, Denver and New Jersey, to name a few.

Yeah, he's not one of Fratello's favorite guys. And when Mike is the coach, usually they don't get re-signed. As Banks alluded to, look for Swift to be in Atlanta or New Jersey next year.

At this stage of his career, it's not likely that Stro would be willing to take a pay cut for wins, so teams like Houston or New York should be excluded from his shortlist. Swift would go wherever he gets paid the most, so it will most likely be Atlanta.

Does Jersey have the cap space to offer him any more than the MLE? They look pretty set with Kidd, Carter and Jefferson's new extension kicking in.

I don't see why everyone seems to think this is a negative thing for the Grizzlies and wants their team to pick up Swift. In his five years as a Grizzly, Swift has never even started to show he was worth the #2 pick, and as he turns 26 this season, his potential is all but gone. This season, in a solid backup role, he only averaged ten points and four rebounds per game. Why would anyone pay more than MLE for that? Besides, he's insconsistent. He'll have a thirty points and fifteen rebound night and then follow that up with a week of four points and one rebound nights.
