<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Seattle SuperSonics said Monday they are going to re-open talks with All-Star guard Ray Allen in the hopes of reaching an extension before Allen?s contract and the league?s collective bargaining agreement expire June 30. In an end-of-season news conference that included Sonics CEO Wally Walker, general manager Rick Sund and coach Nate McMillan, Walker said the team wants to begin dialogue in the coming month in an effort to bridge a gap that stalled talks in February. The sides have not spoken since the All-Star break, but Walker said that in exit interviews Friday, Allen expressed the desire to resume talks. Even though the league is in negotiations with the players? union on a collective bargaining agreement that could trim the maximum length of contracts, Walker said the Sonics want to keep trying to reach a resolution. ?We want to get him signed,? Walker said. ?It is no more complicated than that. Given what he did in the postseason, which is stating the obvious, we would like to get it done just to have it done.? Allen did not return messages. Walker said nothing has been scheduled, but it will be soon. ?It will happen,? Walker said. ?At least the dialogue will.?</div> Source
The Sonics need to get Ray Allen so that they can continue what they started last year. They did very well and almost beat the Spurs in the playoffs so I think they should try to sign Ray and try to continue their success.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Duh Professuh:</div><div class="quote_post">They need to resign Ray Allen if they want to make it back to the playoffs next year.</div> Really? Here I am thinking Vitaly Potapenko is the key to returning to the postseason.

They have lots of talent there, but Allen is the true leader of that team. The rest of the team isn't experienced enough, or just isn't talented enough to lead them back to the playoffs. They NEED him back! If they don't resign him, the playoffs will be a LONG shot next season.

I do agree with him on that. In fact, I'm surprised he didn't delete that post completely because it obviously didn't contribute much to the thread. Maybe next time you can post something like "the Sonics play basketball" or "the Sonics play in Seattle". But anyway, refer username (his).
