<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Dirk Nowitzki wonders what all the playoff fuss was about.

He claims that he has always been a vocal player. For some reason, people just noticed it more this year, according to Nowitzki.

"I've always said some stuff," Nowitzki said. "I don't know why all of a sudden, everything got blown out of proportion ... all this leadership crap. I think I've always said whatever was on my mind."

Nowitzki had many postseason targets. He called out center Erick Dampier, railed at officials, yelled on-court at Jason Terry and derided the Mavericks' basketball IQ.

He wasn't backing off the latter statement as the Mavericks met one last time Monday and emptied their lockers.

"I think we made critical errors, stupid errors in very critical situations and in very critical games," Nowitzki said. "If we hadn't made those errors, we would have been able to win the series and have a lot more games this year."

Dampier said he didn't harbor hard feelings toward Nowitzki but disagreed with the public criticism.

"We're past that now," Dampier said. "It just happened out of frustration. Things like that have to happen at the right time, in a time out or in the locker room."

Terry, still bitterly disappointed with the Game 6 loss, used humor to defuse the situation.

"It will motivate us that much more this summer to come back stronger, faster, quicker ... smarter," Terry said, flashing a brief smile. </div>

Dirk you suck as a leader. But i'm still gonna stand by you and maybe you can pull away from this yell at everyone and bitch and moan when you dont get your way. But i know that a good talking to can set you straight.

Dirk needs to understand that as de facto leader, he will be scrutinized even more. The big fuss about his being vocal is because of his position as leader. He will criticized how he motivates his teammates and more importantly if he has led by example. If Dirk wants to move to the next level, then he has to step up and take all that comes with it.

Kingrex I was about to double post what you wrote. (I totally agree with what you posted)

He does need to lead by example and in the playoffs when he isn't getting calls he needs to take it hard to the basket and make some layups/postups. Dirk has the vocal component down, just needs to work on his post game.

The fun of being a fan is seeing a guy grow-up before your eyes, and Dirk is doing that. We'll see next year if he takes what he has learned this year for their run at the championship next year.

Dirk, just bring an AK47 and mow down everyone in the locker room!
