A lot of this Dirk and KG madness is popping up and that wont happen. But could Dallas get some servicable puzzle pieces to put Dallas over the 2 rounds and out hump???
Ring Ring ... Cuban -- "Dirk Nowitzki trade hotline, who's on the other line?" Mitch -- "Hi, it's Mitch, the Lakers GM." Cuban -- "Who? I thought the GM's name was Kobe Bryant?" Mitch -- "Haha, Good one Mark, that was more entertaining than your reality tv show. Anyways I'm calling about Dirk obviously." Cuban -- "No seriously Mitch, get Kobe on 3-way or something I don't want him overriding any deal we make, and please keep Jack Haley out of the loop on this one." Mitch -- "Cut the crap Mark, let me throw some names out there and let me know your thoughts on them...Lamar Odom." Cuban -- "Nah." Mitch -- "Caron Butler?" Cuban -- "Boring me, Mitch, you know I have 5 hot models with me ready to party with my money, I'm a billionaire you know?" Mitch -- "How about draft picks and expiring contracts?" Cuban -- "Expiring contracts? I just told you I'm a billionaire, spending money doesn't matter to me." "Draft pick, let me think about it ... ok thought about it, and the answer is <u>NO</u>."
^^ On a serious note, Dirk would draw the interest of half the league who think they have the players or packages Dallas would be interested. As shapecity pointed out, Cuban won't likely be looking for expiring contracts or draft picks, and would probably be looking for instant impact players, proven guys who can lead a team. Maybe he'll try to ship Dampier and/or Finley along with Dirk to free up some cap space to sign a free agent or two.
we'll give you C-Webb, Aaron Mckie, and Mark Jackson for Dirk, Shawn Bradley, and we'll take finley's big contract.
I think most teams in the league would love to have Dirk, its just a matter of finding a trade that matches Dirk's value.
Dirk would put up a very large trade value right now, he is one of the best forwards in the league IMO, you will definatly be able to get some players. Although I think Dallas will put Dirk on a high trade value, scaring off many teams.
Just some ideas and in parenthesis will be why they do it. Successful Scenario Due to Dallas, Minnesota, Houston and New Jersey being over the cap, the 15% trade rule is invoked. Dallas, Minnesota, Houston and New Jersey had to be no more than 115% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
The Gasol Trade doesnt seem to far fetched for Dirk... Memphis would prob. ask for a draft pick or harris and add in Bonzi or Mike Miller....That would be a block buster
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting JWohl:</div><div class="quote_post">Why in the world would Houston give up Yao Ming for Shawn Bradley?? Terrible trade idea. </div> So that T-Mac can dunk on Bradley every day at practice! I know Houston got a bad deal..I just wanted Yao to come to Dallas..One 7-6 traded for the other..
