The NBA Lottery is tonight at 8:30 and the Bobcats are projected to get the 3rd pick. The Bobcats have 183 ping pong balls out of 1000. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> The 2005 NBA Draft Lottery will be held on Tuesday, May 24, at the NBA Entertainment Studios in Secaucus, New Jersey. The 21st annual edition of the lottery will determine the order of selection for the first 14 picks of 2005 NBA Draft. The Bobcats will have the second-most combinations in the 2005 NBA Draft Lottery. Charlotte will have a total of 183 chances out of 1,000 with its two lottery selections. </div> http://www.nba.com/bobcats/ I'm hoping Charlotte gets two nice picks so that they can build a nice team with Okafor and two other young players. I think the Bobcats will get the #2 pick. Somthing is just telling me it will happen. Post all discussion about the Bobcats Lottery in this thread.

Crap, 5th? We can't even get Bogut, Paul or Williams now. Good news however is we can still take Gerald Green or Deron Williams.
True but now if we pick Gerald Green, we would have to hope that Felton is still on the board because since PG is one of the positions we need to add on to the team. To be honest with you, I wouldn't be suprised if we do take Deron Williams(although I prefer Felton.) and maybe Granger at 13th.
Odds are that New Orleans takes either Deron Williams or Gerald Green. If New Orleans takes Deron Williams, then it looks like Charlotte will take Raymond Felton or perhaps even gamble on Gerald Green. While Green seems like the better pick because of his potential, the Bobcats could really use a Point Guard. If New Orleans takes Gerald Green, then Charlotte get's their man, Deron Williams. If I were a New Orleans fan, that would be the scenario I'd be praying for.
How disappointing... Perhaps the Bobcats could work some magic like they did last year and trade up using the 13th pick as leverage. However, a trade wouldn't occur until draft day most likely. That way we could still draft either Chris Paul or Marvin Williams. That's only if Portland is willing to trade. I'm sure any of this draft's big 3 would fit on their team. Chris Paul less likely though if they still believe Telfair is a good enough prospect. They would definitely be pleased with either Bogut or Marvin Williams. If they're content with Telfair, they'd like the idea of having two lottery picks. However, if Milwaukee takes Bogut with the first pick which is extremely likely, Atlanta would most likely take Chris Paul with the 2nd. And I'm sure Portland would grab Marvin in a heartbeat. We could just keep the 5th and 13th and still get two quality players. That's probably best anyway, especially if the scenario above happens. Point guard isn't that big of a need, since we'll most likely re-sign Knight. Brevin has proved to be a quality starter for us, and I'm sure he'll be great for us in the short term. I'm a UNC fan, but I'm not sure about taking Felton with the 5th pick. It seems a bit high, unless he impresses at workouts. Deron Williams, yeah. The Bobcats could grab either Deron Williams or Gerald Green, whomever New Orleans doesn't pick. Then we could still land a quality player with the 13th pick. I doubt Felton slides that far. Man I was really hoping for an Okafor/CP3 duo, though. There's still a chance, if a trade can occur. I'm hoping some players can impress at workouts and rise up. That would give us a better chance. Nothing is definite still. Especially in this draft where there is no consensus top player.

They really don't need a Small Forward. They already have Darius Miles, Travis Outlaw, and Viktor Khryapa at that position, and that's a lot of youth and potential to just shove aside for Marvin Williams. If they can't work out a deal, they'll just take Marvin Williams, but it's not like he's their favorite player in the draft. They're so turned off to Small Forwards that General Manager John Nash even hesitated to think of Gerald Green as an option when they had the #5 pick, because Green was more of a Small Forward than a Shooting Guard. Their favorite players in this draft are Martynas Andriuskevicius, Martell Webster, and Rashad McCants. They like Andriuskevicius because of his connections with Sabonis, and the fact that he's a project who will take a while to develop is not a very bad thing to them, because they have Joel Pryzbilla and Theo Ratliff right now. They like Webster and McCants simply because they're the two best Shooting Guards in the draft. So, considering that their favorite player in the draft, Andriuskevicius, will likely be available at #5, and one of their other favorite players will be available at #13, I can very well see a #5 and #13 for #3 trade.
Well there are many ways we can improve our first pick, without it affecting our Cavs one. We could easily take on a contract for a few years from one of the teams above us in the Draft, and in return we will swap picks. That could work for us, as a big'ish contract wont affect us, if he will only be there for a few years, then we can offload him.
