i don't know if anyone heard this but on Daily News Live, he said that he was trying to trade for the last pick of the NBA draft, or in other words, the last pick of the second round. why do this? because the sixers owe the pistons a second round draft pick. that second rounder could be any pick. so king is trying to get the last pick and send it to the pistons so he can keep the sixers pick, which is probably 45th overall, and draft someone with it. what do you guys think about this?

oh yeah, i found a link so it is true.

On "Daily News Live," on Comcast SportsNet, Billy King revealed that he was close to a deal to acquire a second-round choice to deliver to Detroit as final payment for the 1997 trade in which the Sixers acquired Theo Ratliff and Aaron McKie forJerry Stackhouse and Eric Montross.

The final payment gave the Sixers until June 12 to provide the Pistons with a second-rounder in next month's draft or give up their existing pick in that round. The pick to be acquired would be lower than the existing one, No. 45.

it's interesting if you can pull it off. But I really wish we didn't blow our first round picks like we have We could of really had something going this year with our pick an Iggy an Iverson : /

That's good to hear, I think this draft could be a nice one. Although their is no obvious picks this draft has good depth. With a 25-30 pick it might be possible to grab a player like Wayne Simien, or possibly Hakim Warrick.

If we do it would be sensible to go after a backup PF..and my top 4 choices at that point of the draft would be:

    1. Wayne Simien(if HOU wouldn't snag him first)
    2. Ronny Turiaf
    3. Andray Blatche
    4. Ike Diogu

I'd be satisfied with any of those.

I think we are talking last pick in 2nd round not the last in the 1st Round so Warrick and Simien won't be around
