Jameer Nelson will be real good ? that?s how good he?ll be. The Magic got a real steal in the draft in him and they are pretty lucky too. Originally he wasn?t used at all and he was able to bounce back and make the all-rookie second team. You have to give him props for that. Now that Nelson is running the point and Francis is playing as a shooting guard, the Magic exploit the scoring abilities to the fullest.

At first, I thought Nelson would simply collect dust riding the Magic bench, and another team will pick him up after they see the talent he has; similarly to Jermaine O?Neal being traded out of Portland to Indiana. It?s a good thing the Magic finally decided to take advantage of the talent he had. He?s also putting up pretty good stats with about 9 points and 3 assists in only 20 minutes and even had a 30 point game this season. Being in college all four years you can tell he?s quite mature

Once the Magic trade Francis, it should give Nelson the opportunity to really shine without having someone else dominate the ball so much. In the near future, I think Jameer Nelson can have averages of 15/5/7. With all that talent scoring and plus having someone like Dwight Howard to dish it to, he might be better.

Over his career, I think he'll be a 16 and 7 guy. I don't think he'll be a superstar or anything, but he'll be damn good. Since they have other positions they can improve on, they need to trade Francis so Jameer can start, (which someone may have already said, I didn't read the whole thread), so that not all their talent is at the pointguard position. Francis is great trade bait to get a third guy,a Trio of Jameer/Howard and whoever they get for Franchise will be dangerous.

[IMG] [IMG] he's good... but let's not get ahead of ourselves here...

I might overrate Nelson, but I'm not exxagerating, the kid has some of the best ballhandling, court vision, and passing i've seen, his game reminds me most of jason kidd's, he's not that tall but he does more than anyone has ever expected, and 16-7-4-and 2 with much fewer turnovers than francis (only my projected stats) the kid is better

I actually like Nelson a lot...I like his maturity, he had great size (bulk) for a PG, great passer and is a leader...he is someone that I would be comfortable with running my team...I think he had a great year this season for a rookie campaign, and its apparent he's Orlando's PG of the future...he needs to develop his shot more and get more consistent from deep but the kid has a very bright future...

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting TheGreatK-Bob:</div><div class="quote_post">Jameer will be better than Francis, I don't see any reason he wont be. He was the BEST pleter in college basketball for a year, Francis wasn't, he had some nice dunking and was a great player. Say what you want about the college game but i truly would rather have Jameer as my starting pg, but iof that is theplan we should trade steve for a 2. Jameer is not a defensive liability in my opinion, I never saw him just get backed in and shot over all year, he contested every shot because he worked hard, yah it's harder for him to be effective and shot blocking won't happen much, but guards aren't supposed to get many shot blocks. He got 7 steals in philly, I'm fine with him guarding any pg in the league, I'm just not fine with steve guarding the 2, andJameer can guard smaller 2s. Dwill be fine though, that's one hole, there are m,any team that have 2 or 3 holes and are still successful by overwealming the d on the 2 or 3 best players and making sure to contest other's shots when they can.</div>

We would be fine if Jameer started a PG without Francis starting or Francis starting and Jameer coming off the bench for defense, but we won't be able to guard with Jameer and Francis. Our D would be just as bad as last year, because they would penetrate through both of them and then Howard/C will have to come up to help and then they dish it to the person that they were guarding for an easy dunk. We will be able to live for 10 mins max with Francis/Jameer in the lineup and starters normally play at least 20 together.

Like I said before, I really like Jameer, it's just he WON'T reach his potential with the Magic as long as we have Francis and with our team, he is best suited coming off the bench for the best chance of us getting more wins.
