yea I think so based on Harrington just can't seem to get it together. I also think by the time Garcia comes in it might be to late. Garcia hasn't had a great year in about 3 seasons. When the Lions do find a QB they will be scary.
I think the offense will be more effective under Jeff Garcia. He does great when Marrucii is coaching him. The years under Marucci in San Francisco he made the pro bowl. He has more wepons in detriot then he did in san francisco. I think Steve will make the switch in the early parts of the season
Yea but Garcia has also got older. I think he will finsh the season out and maybe hang around another year but after this year if Harrington doesn't pan out they need to go out and find a young QB. Whether it's through the draft. Trading for Rivers or Brees, or FA.
I'm going with I don't know. It all depends on if Harrington can pull himself together and elevate his game play. If he can step up and get it done Garcia won't be seeing the field, if not then Garcia could very well end up being the starter for the Lions.
I am going to go out on a limb here and say Harrington enjoys his best season as a pro this year. No concrete evidence, just a feeling. Remember that the last 2 seasons one of his "weapons" was on the sideline nursing a broken collarbone. Now "weapon" #2 has a season under his belt and they will have another camp together to get a feel for one another. "Weapon" #3 will be a welcome addition when "weapon" #2 goes down again this season.
Their running game should be pretty good this year, too, so that will help Harrington as well. How does their offensive line look? We need a Lions fan on this board... Where the hell is Zackman?
Here's an interesting article about Harrington and how he's on the hot seat this year: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/columns/stor...john&id=2101524
The lions fan has arrived. Here is how I break down the O line. LT -- Backus -- People have different opinions on him. Some people really like him (Including me) Others think that he is a below average LT. In everything that I have seen he is a good tackle. LG -- DeMullin g-- Last year this was our biggest hole on the O-line. This year the hole is filled. DeMulling has been a solid starter for the Colts over the past couple years and is a huge upgrade over Loverne and Joyce that we had last year. Everything I have heard says that he isn't going to bulldoze DT's but is more than adequate when straight ahead run blocking and is good when pullng and leading the runner through the hole. He is a good pass blocker. C -- Raliola -- Second biggest resignee behind Shaun Rogers. He is much like DeMulling. Overall a solid starter. RG -- Woody -- Our best lineman. He does great at getting a push on run plays and is a good pass blocker as well. Was the only offensive lion to make CBS sportslines Top offensive players list. RT -- Butler/Kosier/Rogers -- This our biggest questionmark on the entire team. Stockar McDougle left town to go to the Dolphins and left behind a huge hole. The lions drafted Kelly Butler from Purdue last year after he fell all the way to the 6th round for off the field issues. He was projected to be a 2nd round pick. Problem is he didn't play one snap last year. Reports say that he has gotten the majority of the snaps during the mini camps. He is physically the most gifted of the group but less experienced. The lions signed Kyle Kosier from the 49ers and he is my pick to open up the year at the RT spot. He has a lot of experience in the WCO and played decent on a 49er line that was among the worst in the league last year. I expect that Butler will take over for Kosier as the season progresses and he gets more experienced. Depth: Kosier was a big signing. He can play G or T to fill in for any injuries that come up. He is the only one I care to mention. The other ones are back up lineman and hopefully I don't have to talk about them. Overall I think our line will do their part to have this offense click. IMO even with the loss of McDougle this line is better than last year with the additions of DeMulling and adding Kosier for depth The big battle in Training Camp will be for the RT spot. T minus 9 days and counting.
