<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Yao-za! You want a conspiracy theory in the NBA? Here's one: Mullin and agent Bill Duffy are working together to get one of Duffy's premier clients, Yao Ming, to the Warriors as soon as possible. In exchange for having Yao served up to him on a silver platter when he becomes a free agent either next summer or in 2007, Mullin has employed three of Duffy's clients in the past two years ? signing Speedy Claxton, drafting Andris Biedrins and acquiring Zarko Cabarkapa. What's next? If it means keeping Yao on the fast track to Oakland, Mullin gladly will use the No.9 pick on Syracuse forward Hakim Warrick, who has the potential to be a Tyson Chandler-type shot-blocker in the NBA.</div>Inside Bay Area Hmmmm I think Yao needs a new Agent. I don't like the fact that Duffy is working on getting Yao to Golden State. I think he should let Yao decide his own future and hopefully Yao realizes that hes got a better team here.
I hate that guy. He is trying to take yao away from Houston. I hope we sign him to an extension as soon as possible cause i am sick of that crappy golden state warrior team talking about taking yao ming.
Personally .. I think it's a load of BS. The Rockets signed a contract with Yao (obviously) and China. The only way Yao is going to leave is if he signs as a free agent with the Warriors, or gets traded, meaning the Rockets and Warriors have to make seperate agreements with China. Yao has said numerous times on Sina (though the dependablitity of that site is questionable) that he would stay with the Rockets as long as he is wanted. I think this guy is some random writer who likes Yao and the Warriors a bit too much. No real basis on that part of the article. Yao will get resigned soon enough, and there is no way that CD and JVG let him go without a good fight.
Its probably BS but I'm sure Yao wouldn't mind playing with a great PG and playing in an area heavily populated by Asians. I hope this is true but my guess is that Houston will offer more than GS could once Yao's contract expires.
The Rockets will not let Yao to become FA i think, and if really doing the trade, the Warriors need to give up some players to the Rockets right? The Rockets need a C, which the Warriors have no one to give up. Losing Yao, Rockets will become bad, as he is one of the most important players with T-Mac in the team. Besides, they will lose a lot of big contracts from China and merchandise lose as well. I dont think they are going to do this. I am talking this in a 100% non-Yao fan point of view. The Rockets better keep Yao, he's definately not S.Bradley.
This is not a fact, just a theory; something someone bored thought of. There's also talks of Lebron James in Cleveland and New York getting a number one pick soon. There's no real basis on such conspiracy theories.
That's a stupid theory. Besides, Yao is probalby gonna stay in Houston for quite a while. If he evber leaves, he will probably go somewhere with a very chiense community present. San Fran is right across the bridge from Oakland, but its not that Chinese(excuse my lack of better language)
Although it may be "stupid" it isn't very farfetched. Talks of Yao heading to GS have been going on for a couple of years now. However, I can't see it happening.
man houston would not give up yao like that, besides we should have seen this coming, agents dont care abou nada man dont respect nada, all they respect is the green, like what happened with the astros and carlos beltran, jeff kent as well. same agent who convinced them both to leave because the astros could not offer more then what the mets were offering and lettign kent go because the astros were giving money to reaquire beltran, and not to mention that the same agent that beltran and kent have is also the agent for arod and jeter, sports is not just for entertainment anymore just for business
I would think that this rumor would officially be dead once we sign Yao to a max contract extension, which will most likely come this summer after the new CBA has been agreed upon. It won't be plausible for Yao to want out of Houston after the team is making plans to build around him, and Houston can offer more than any other team.
We cant afford losing Yao. Once we lose him, we're gonna lose Tmac sooner or later. If Houston goes without these two stars, I'd rather fly to orlando to see steve play.
I think it will take a lot for Yao to move, simply because we are not only representing Yao, but China as well...plus I have 100% confidence that Les will get Yao locked up and sealed with a lucrative contract...I would hate to see Yao influenced by his agent because he has stated time and time again about how he loves Houston and wants to stay here...considering his background and morals, I see him as a man of loyalty and honesty; unfortunately, his agent is selfish and greedy, when Yao is gonna receive a max contract either way...

Dawson has stated time and time again that the summer's main priority would be locking up Yao for the long term.
The Rockets get more exposure than any other team in the league because of Yao.. Think of all the endorsements they would lose if he left (arena advertisements that are broadcast to millions in China). There is NO WAY the Rockets will let him go, the only way would be for Yao to force a trade (or sign-and-trade) and that's unlikely.
Yao's agent is a bit dumb (had to edit because i didnt know a certain word is blocked), Yao should fire him, his home is in Houston, his restraunt is in Houston and Yao's family is in Houston, Yao doesnt want to go to a city where he doesnt know his people, but wants to stay in a city where his people are family
I don't see it happening, but these type of shady deals go down far too, often in the NBA. Sports agents are ruining the game for the fans and have far too, much influence on the league. This should be considered tampering and a team caught doing it should forfeit their future draft picks. With the Rockets making the playoffs and bringing in Tracy McGrady, I don't think Yao is leaving. However, if the Rockets failed to make the playoffs again, I'd put more belief in this story.

Even the writer didn't say this was happening: he said it was just a conspiracy theory, not something that he has proof or is sure about. I don't know why most people are taking this so seriously and treating it like a fact.
