yea i posted it on the clevland section of the site, that really caught me by suprie i just can't imagine him in a front office position.
I really didn't think he would accept it. I thought he would of stuck with Detroit for one more year and then retired from the NBA for good, just a gut feeling I had...I guess I'll never trust my gut again.
What kind of effect will this news have on Detroit in the playoffs? If the Pistons lose the series, will people blame Larry Brown for it?
Larry Brown has health issues which seems to be the reason for this move. Making this move now is the worse possible situation for the Pistons. The last thing that team needs is a distraction like this. Heat have already stole backcourt back, now Larry Brown will not be there next year I can't imagine what the Piston players are thinking. Classless move to make this decision before the playoffs are even over.

He was meeting the requirments.

Players look at you different and may not play a certain way knowing you won't be there. It's no better than say a player agreeing to sign elsewhere while being under contract with another team. Facts remain, Larry Brown is still under contract with the Pistons and no one else should be on his mind. If the Cavs want LB so bad, wait til the end of their playoff run not during It. Wouldn't be surprised If he gets booed by the Pistons fans at the palace tomorrow.
Brown isn't classless. It's not like he came out and said it to the media. Two anonymous sources leaked it. He has denied it publicly and I'm sure he'll continue to do so.
Did the Pistons organization give Cleveland permission to contact Larry Brown about the job? If so, then I don't think you can blame Larry Brown for accepting it. It's unfortunate that it had to happen while the Pistons were still in the playoffs, but Cleveland needed an answer. Personally, I don't think it's right to criticize Larry Brown. But, undoubtedly, this has to have a negative impact on the player's psyche.

The Cavaliers are preparing for the draft...I think they would like some stability in who they will have as their team President so they can start scouting heavily...

I wouldn't be surprised If this throws the Piston players completely off which could easily cost them the series.
Classless? No, especially if the Detroit Organiziationgave him permission. Disrespectful? Yes, especially to his players(if it is true)
Word is that he was given permission by the Pistons to talk to Cleveland. And as for Cleveland talking to him now, they had to. IF they miss out on LB, other canidates could get scooped up. The real question is how will he do as a GM.
i just dont understand that guy. Rumours of him leaving started even last summer and he has constantly said "my health, my health, time with my family" and blaaaaze blaaaze, and now he wants to take the Cleveland gig. I just think now that he's got his ring, he's like..... now would be a good chance as any to bounce! and didnt he leave the next year after Philly got beat by L.A. in teh finals??

They should try and get someone that is expirienced, not a newbie. Who knows if Larry will be a good GM? They are putting the future of the franchise on a brand new GM's shoulders. If he doesnt turn the team around, into contenders in two years LBJ is gone.
Charlie Weiss, now the head coach of the Notre Dame Football team, did this exact same thing. He was the offensive coordinator of the New England Patriots last year, and late in the regular season, he was announced as Notre Dame's Head Coach for the next season. The Patriots went on to win the Super Bowl, proving that this stuff isn't much of a distraction. Nobody came down on Weiss like this, so I don't understand why Larry Brown is getting all of this hate.
